Total mayhem is a common phrase for sure.

But Gaga going out of her way to mention it and capitalise it stylistically seems pointed.

A small part of me thinks a Total Mayhem EP is coming with some new tracks.

omg just like the fame monster

I would like to submit this as evidence your honor

Why would she tease this song 15 years later, say that it deserves to see the light of day, make merch for it, all out of nowhere?

It’s a lyric from the album…

Yeah, but that lyric is a very specific reference to that song. The shirt doesn't say "Perfect Celebrity" or "Watch the princess die", it's capitalized like the song. She said she thinks it deserves to be released, and that stands out to me because she’s also mentioned that most of her unreleased demos aren’t good enough to be released. So why put emphasis on that one to the point of making merch about it?

But why do they wait that long? The album’s cycle has been dead for two months, and it was already dead before TDD

Wrong.

I think it’s funny how with Born This Way there were theories of a “Die This Way” album, with ARTPOP we had Act II and got cancelled, with Chromatica there were rumors about “MonoChromatica” the sequel with darker songs but the one album that doesn’t feel like it needed a sequel (Joanne) is the one she planned to re-release with more songs or just do a part 2 with The Cure and that also got cancelled.

I don't wanna be a debbie downer, but I really feel like y'all are setting yourselves up for disappointment.

Imo, the only credible evidence suggesting she might release more songs is the fact that there are still unused lyrics on her website. That is concrete. In the beginning, you could chalk it up to "Well, she's just putting in some random lyrics from unreleased songs to throw us off the scent from the real lyrics," but since she released TDD months after MAYHEM and those lyrics were confirmed to be on her website, it gives more credence to the idea that she's planned out more songs to be released that had their lyrics posted on the website since the beginning.

However, I think everything else is purely speculation and conjecture. I don't think her outfit at the Wednesday gala symbolizes anything, and the phrase "total mayhem" is a common one. You could be like "Well, she capitalized it, so it MUST mean something," but I don't buy it. It just seems like she was having fun during the Roblox event.

MAYHEM is my favorite album of hers. Tbh, I think I love it more than most, so I would love nothing more than new music. But I don't think any of this means anything...

Did she ? I though the general consensus was that those sessions were in preparation for A Star Is Born

We have info shared by people who were invited backstage at the JWT (so not entirely reliable) and they said she was considering putting out a Joanne B-sides kinda project. But again it's their words on Twitter against the reality. And yes, The Cure was in preparation for ASIB and it was always meant to be a standalone surprise track

This era as been particularly calculated. I know we've be traumatized by a bunch of teased projects that never saw the light of day, but if you think about it it makes perfect sense. A follow up album or EP wouldn't need to be promoted heavily and it would be the perfect send off before her break to start a family. TOTAL MAYHEM is indeed a common phrase, but it's too clever to be a coincidence IMO. If she doesn't end up releasing it I won't be disappointed because she never promised anything. But the hints are hinting and it's fun to speculate. The truth is in her lipstick after all. :cheeky:

I agree that this era has been more calculated and fan-driven. It's not out of the realm of possibility that she could release more music, but I don't see any of this "TOTAL MAYHEM" stuff as indicative of that.

We know she has at least one more song in Devil Wears Prada 2, so we'll see if that leads us to a follow-up album or EP. Personally, I think she'll just put that song on MAYHEM like she did with TDD if it has a similar sound/vibe as the album.

Because it’s a fan favorite unreleased song and is also referenced in the album, duh. This thread is so delusional oml
