This is really, really unfortunate. I discovered her music a few years ago and have stanned HARD. I got a fuqin tattoo of one of her lyrics.  I can’t believe she would go down this route, it’s insane. I’m divorcing myself from her music, and while it is sad, it feels like the right thing.

I was hopeful when she donated the portion of the proceeds of her last records to trans advocacy groups and hoped maybe she had evolved in some way, but the way she’s doubled, tripled, quadrupled down on this and has managed to get infinitely more transphobic is ****ing wild to me. Same, I just assumed she spouted off that ignorant stuff about hormone therapy once and then seemingly learned she was wrong, said she would no longer comment on these matters publicly, and then went about her day. Her Twitter is nuts. Her Instagram must be run by someone else because I follow her overt there and she’s totally different. I had no idea this was even going down and I’m generally pretty tapped in.

Disappointed. I thought she made a comment one time and then said she’d “bow out of the convo.” Clearly she was lying. Nevertheless, I had tickets to see her immediately after she made her first wave of mixy comments. I couldn’t get a refund. I took the L and just didn’t go. This was a while ago and was very disappointed, but it was just so icky and tacky to me to see someone after all this time still acting an asshole. It’s gross
