I love when artists do weird **** like this only they understand but I’m here for 100% creative freedom.

I mean I knew that the title Berghain would not be some predictable Scheiße type of techno song coming from Rosalía and it’s still a surprise. Can’t wait to listen to the whole album from start to finish.

On my 10th listen… album of the year is coming and it’s not even close

This is so silly I can't :ladyhaha:

maybe it's because I'm native German speaking, maybe it's because I can see Berghain literally out of my window, maybe it's the fact they try to be edgy combining both. But you go girl :vegas:

well, her lyrical voice is stunning really, she's very talented, at least she's not hopping on reggaeton or trap trends with this one

Predictable and Scheiße in the same sentence, the audacity! :triggered:

Quite off topic, but since you brought it up: we don't appreciate how original and risky Gaga was as a mega mainstream artist when she released a song like Scheiße at the time. No one acknowledges it, but we as fans, at least, should.

Getting back to the topic: the song and the video are BEAUTIFUL. And I think Rosalía is doing the right thing by playing the no-expectation card. Very excited about the rest of the album!

What is your interpretation of the song?

I think it’s titled Berghain because the sonf lyrics speak about needing intervention and saving and needing approval, maybe like getting into heaven-wise.

Idk, I need time cause I’m so blown away

My boyfriend said something very interesting, which is that perhaps the title refers more to the verb “bargain” in English than to the Berlin nightclub Berghain, even though phonetically they are not pronounced similarly but are spelled similarly, and knowing Rosalía, I can imagine her proposing that kind of linguistic shift.

Scheiße is my #1 Gaga song and did not mean to call it predictable. I just meant that when you read the word BERGHAIN and are familiar that it's a club in Germany, you'd expect it to be some kind of techno song. I meant that since Rosalía is the one using that name for a song title, there was no way she'd do a techno / EDM sound.
