Ophelia is a character in William Shakespeare's tragedy Hamlet.

She is the young noblewoman who Hamlet (the protagonist) is in love with. She is the daughter of Polonius and the sister of Laertes.

Ophelia is often seen as one of the most tragic and passive characters in the play. After Hamlet spurns her love (part of his supposed "madness") and then murders her father, she is driven to madness herself. Her famous death scene is described as her floating down a river while singing songs, crowned with flowers, before she drowns.

 

 

BASICALLY the song means Travis came and saved her from having a bad faith and being unhappy.

What a load of superficial crap! Ideas looking like nothing more than early art-school déjà vu. It's no surprise that the general public loves her. The whole imagery evolves in a sort of safe PG10 Disneyland.

And once again, when you've listened to the song, it fizzle out of memory as fast as elevator musak.

A real masterclass in generic mass appeal.

The chorus is suuuuper common in pop. Not a dig or anything. It’s classic, a sound that goes way back to like 50s and 60s pop
