Flippy 13,222
There’s a handful of cute songs but nothing too memorable… It kinda sucks since I was expecting more… Though the listening party had me understand the album more, it’s still something I can’t fully connect with TMBT 3.22.11 // TBTWB 1.17.13 // ArtRAVE 6.3.14 // C2CT 5.28.15 // TJWT 8.13.17 // CWT 9.8.22 // TMB 7.22.25 & 7.24.25
CyanDante 6,184
The Variety review has to be 10/10 Ragebait. "Swift has never made two albums that sound alike, and that’s certainly the case with this nearly polar-opposite followup to her “Tortured” era. We like her when she’s mad (with apologies to the Incredible Hulk), and of course, she already proudly told us there’s nothing like a madwoman. But she also once told us, “Why be mad when you can be glad?" "It’s too late for Swift to have a “song of the summer,” but this feels like the Album of the Summer — the calendar be damned. It’s giddy, funny, touching, silly, haughty and moving in about equal measure, but most of all, it’s got a sunstruck kind of love that besottedly seeps through the orange LP grooves and might even make you believe in romance again, too. Bring your own SPF 50." https://variety.com/2025/music/album-reviews/taylor-swift-album-review-life-of-a-showgirl-1236537532/ They gave it a 92/100 btw Edited October 3 by CyanDante I'm not very good with Social Mediaᵀᴹ

BeFree 174
The album is more mediocre than I expected. I fail to see any growth in sound, production, lyrical content etc over the last several albums. Nothing stands out at all in my opinion. 5

Their article about Grammy predictions goes on so long about there being zero superstar releasss this year compared to last year and go out of their way to say things like “Kendrick is so far in the lead for AOTY there isn’t anyone even close” and then the next album they talk about having any kind of chance f Sabrina’s album which has been out for 2 mins. Gaga gets a mention at the very end as an afterthought. It seems like an intentional sabotage to diminish Mayhem’s chances and rewrite a narrative that it’s not really in consideration, despite every other awards aggregator placing in the top 2 with many critics predicting it will win. this over the top review of Taylor just makes me think variety is even less credible. 5
