It’s just ridiculous at this point how far she exceeds the numbers of everyone else. Like most other artists would be extremely happy with a debut of 40-60m.

I’ve not enjoyed any Taylor Swift album since Lover but thought i’d give this one a listen due to the usual hype machine, but it really does nothing for me. I was hopeful of a more pop influenced album based on the rumours but I found most the tracks to be mediocre at best and somewhat boring.

I guess even though the single day streams are lower than TTPD this has actually done better as it has much less tracks.

It’s such a shame that artists with better material aren’t getting these types of debuts but I guess the mainstream is always the most universal.

Did she beat her TTPD debut?

The Tortured Poets Department: The Anthology debuted with 313.7M streams but had 19 more songs

I feel like there's never been a pop artist who is THIS much more successful than their peers. Even MJ, Madonna had chart rivalry with other big stars at the time, 13M alone in the US is obscene

Good for her. With the way she feeds her fans constantly she has earned those numbers

I just wish the music itself wasn't so underwhelming. It's like with each album she's selling more and more while the quality is steadily declining. I guess this is what you get when you succeed too much. I also feel like her fans are much less critical of her than other fanbases. That's why they ultimately stream and buy her music instead of nitpicking.

These numbers aren't as exciting or interesting anymore especially knowing that it doesn't translate to real world popularity judging by how no one even remembers what her last album sounded like and is pretty much forgotten whereas people still talk about albums like eternal sunshine etc

spotify is faking numbers or they are not blocking bots and stream farms, because these numbers are way too unrealistic. she has a lot of fans yeah, but some artists have more and they are not reaching these numbers.

Very True. It's important to remember longevity and performance. Taylor has never had a song spend 10 weeks at #1. Just shows you the difference in having massive hype and buildup around you, but the GP not caring about it very long. I believe Taylor's longest run is shake it off which belongs on kidz bop imo.  😬

And even then… they’re paying 5-star Michelin restaurant prices for prison food quality meals :traumatica:

I listened to the album twice through. Definitely at 6/10 imo. Midnights was a much better album. I think her time with Max Martin should be over. To me it sounded too much like Sabrina Carpenters music. Which ironically she helps end the album. Ehh it’s okay.

First song 30M streams, last stream 15M streams. So half of the people that listened to the album didn't make it to the end :laughga:

You could say the same about every single album, actually a 50% drop is amazing
