On first listen I find this album very underwhelming I was expecting lyricism like Folklore and another pop bible production like 1989. Thank god The fate of Ophelia is the lead single her best in years.

this album will fit right in the mall / h&m playlists and that’s saying something… i like cancelled, father figure, the fate of ophelia & maybe wish list but that’s ab it, otherwise i’m plain bored, even the songs i liked are rather background songs which doesn’t really sound good when talking about a ‘return to pop’ territory album

 I wasn't really expecting anything that would actually match the dramatics of the covers, but honestly it makes no sense to call it TLOAS and to sport the showgirl outfits for songs that are very white t shirt, cardigan and slightly torn jeans Cancelled, Opalite and Actually Romantic kind of are the most interesting songs and even thats not saying much. It's ts not a bad album, its an easy and enjoyable listen compared to TTPD, I just wish it was grander and more showgirly with some faster bpms and playful productions. I guess she truly is the problem and not Jack as many have been saying
