4th Time Around

Some of these lyrics are even worse than TTPD which is really saying something

Hey, I'm king of the world, you ought to hear my song, you come on measure me, I'm twenty inches long

Good? Sure!

Great? Eh.

NEGATIVES-

I think the album title and visuals do not match the album at ALL.

The only songs that stand out to me are wishlist, and maybe eldest daughter

Cancelled and opalite have good moments but the songs as a whole still lack smth from me.

The productions are fun but still pretty safe, and her lyrics still lack smth for me

Sabrinas contributions to the last track just reminded me that taylors vocal delivery is also a huge part of why i cant get into her music. I started appreciating the lyrics better with Sabrina's vocals.

I would have loved to see the concept of the album show more throughout the music

POSITIVES -

I enjoyed the production of several tracks

I appreciate that this album isn’t 20 songs long

Its easy listening

im gonna give it a 5/10. Unremarkable

Since Taylors music has never been my style, I won't actually write anything too negative. I listened to the album twice, I always do with major new releases. You never know, sometimes an artist you previously ignored can become a new favorite, being open minded is the key. Unfortunately this new album is not for me. It all sounds pretty same-ish. The only two that stood out to me are "The Fate of Ophelia" and "Elizabeth Taylor", but even these aren't making it onto my Playlist. Sorry! I am happy for the many, many fans out there though, who are enjoying Taylors new album

i’ve been listening to the album on repeat since 6am. ophelia, opalite, eldest daughter, cancelled, and the title track are all standouts. actually, the whole record is somehow so soft, romantic, and melodic. 🧡

can’t wait to experience its theatrical release too. her boppiest lead single in a while. gonna be a smash, deservedly so. ❤️‍🔥

I usually don’t really like TayTay but I have to say this album is pretty cool! I’m listening to it right now. I feel like ever song is the same lmao but it’s quite good. Really like The Fate of Ophelia.

Variety and Rolling Stone apparently gave it perfect scores. Are there other reviews out?

The Guardian gave it 2/5

The Sabrina collab instrumental sounds like Halo :billie:

while the chorus reminds of a another song :partysick:

Found it:

The sliding notes and progression in the chorus reminds of this masterpiece :partysick:

Except this one is better. Tbh, Sabrina carried that song.

keep on looking for Psyduck

How can you have so many interesting name tracks to then actually listening and have a feeling of... Go girl give us nothing? Already on track 5 and I literally believe the previous four have the same production and chord progress, altering a little something each song to offer the sensation of a whole new thing. I don't know how to explain it.

I really clicked play with an open mind, but this one is objectively weird enough
