I’ve been screaming since Midnights that if she did a light guitar driven pop album in the vein of Michelle Branch, full of love/life thematic songs, it would hit so well. Go back to singer songwriter turned pop star. But she needs to stop taking inspiration from her fans and their (literal) immaturity because it’s affecting the writing

Made it to the 6th song or so and usually skipped to the next one once she mentioned yet another ultra specific color.. like girl, that fire coloring pencil set you got for Christmas that one year in the 90s really gave you an edge in school.. but let it go, it's time, not everything has to be onyx, maroon or emerald green.

I'm calling it, this album will redefine the musical landscape for the next 20 years

it's absolutely brilliant on every front, lyricism, production, vocal engineering, they really cooked

The Fate of Ophelia and Opalite giving me CRJ, K-Pop realness... sticky sweet pop

I'm kind of ok on the rest, some of the reputation-esque ones.. hmm... idk

Roughhouse Dandy

Is this her last hurrah for a minute? Is she soft launching a semi-retirement after this era?

This is my Hannah Montana™️ lipgloss.

Variety and Rolling Stone apparently gave it perfect scores. Are there other reviews out?

Irrelevant

Actually Romantic, Wi$h Li$t and CANCELLED! are embarrassing lyrically

not to mention the lyrics in Eldest Daughter that came aged on arrival :ohno:

On first listen I find this album very underwhelming I was expecting lyricism like Folklore and another pop bible production like 1989. Thank god The fate of Ophelia is the lead single her best in years.

This sounds like AI promted to generate a quick easy listening Taylor Swift album. Made me so sleepy… she def lost it.

this album will fit right in the mall / h&m playlists and that’s saying something… i like cancelled, father figure, the fate of ophelia & maybe wish list but that’s ab it, otherwise i’m plain bored, even the songs i liked are rather background songs which doesn’t really sound good when talking about a ‘return to pop’ territory album

f*** u pop music
