Creyk 17,980
Most people (over 26, at least) seem to be pretty annoyed by all the endless remakes that have been hastily produced and puked out ad nauseum the last couple decades. They always remake GREAT movies that everyone loves. Obviously I get why studios do this, from a financial standpoint. The titles have a huge built-in fan base already, so the odds that they will make money are much higher than a risky, original IP. However, there are certain B and even C level movies that had great premises, maybe even great casts and acting, but for whatever reason just didn't live up to their full potential, and slipped through the cracks on release. Maybe they became cult classics way later, but they should have been made better in the first place. These are the films that SHOULD be remade. Can you think of any you'd like to see redone?

I wonder how many people are going to ignore your specific prompt & just pick movies they like lol edit- hopefully 0 now Edited September 22 by NUTELLA

Yaaaas Gaga 960
Absolutely none. I’m sick and tired of remakes. They are almost never as good as the original. As a 90’s kid, anything featuring Robin Williams and Jim Carrey can be left well alone.
dubstep111 680
I wish they would remake poltergeist since the remake they did a few years back was beyond awful.

jacs vs looser 4,502
I would say The Craft: Legacy, it wasn't terrible but there was so much more they could've done. 6 minutes ago, princedeeblebleble said: I'd love a GOOD, old school brutal Home Alone or a very yasified Legally blonde. StrawberryBlond 14,953
Girl, Interrupted in a modern psychiatric hospital setting. I always think remakes make a lot of sense when they're filmed not only for a new generation but taking into account how society has changed and especially how technology would change a lot of storylines. For example, the Carrie remake changed from the 70's to the 2010's meant that the bullying could be taken next level because Carrie's humiliation could be filmed and posted online. I also think Birds of Prey would've worked better as a darker movie and not as fun and cartoonish premise like we got. I'm all for a feminist take on female comic book characters but it went about it in a corny way. Marketing it not at comic book fans but at women who didn't watch comic book movies clearly didn't work so it would be nice to see how it could've turned out if its aim was full-on girl boss feminism. And just for s**ts and giggles, The Parent Trap remade as a horror film. Because let's face it, what teenage girls would be happy to find out that their parents had separated them from birth and raised them apart, never telling them they were a twin and never letting them be in contact, acting like two total psychos? The fact a court allowed this arrangement, even back then, isn't remotely realistic, but if it did happen, kids now would be flipping tables when they found out! In a horror remake, they could get their revenge on their neglectful parents! Kinda like this? This movie was given the "recut" treatment to be repackaged as a horror movie by other YouTubers too. Some presented Kevin as psychotic but other ones made the neighbour be evil and it would be up to Kevin to survive being home alone when he approaches with this snow shovel. Top tip: if you type in the name of a movie followed by "recut" on YouTube, you'll get a host of similar attempts at re-shooting trailers of family films to look like horror films (Mary Poppins and Mrs Doubtfire were done really well) and sometimes even horror movies made to look like a comedy (The Exorcist being an obvious choice)!
