it's from WAP and UP, she didn't have 1M pre-orders. 
last year, Jason Derulo included some old songs on his album and got RIAA certification on the first day - his album sold only 12k in the first week.

I know absolutely nothing about her music but I thought that song came out like 4 years ago 

Also didn't know platinum is 1 million

It's kinda the MAYHEM blueprint so 

I fear that she's a 3 year too late for this album. Hope it turns out to be a success cuz Cardi is entertaining and I want her to last although I don't listen to her music.

I dont think the mayhem comparisons are fair at all.

I’m joking  but MAYHEM went plat on the first week due to the success of the pre-release tracks (DWAS) and so did Cardi’s… although she slapped on 2 hits from ages ago to get there unlike Gaga  I’m not calling out either of them cuz it’s the smart thing to do from a business pov and DWAS ends MAYHEM beautifully.

MAYHEM is my favorite album from her along with BTW and it deserved even more success/sales, if anything.

almost 3 billion of the 4.5 billion album streams are from Die with a smile

DWAS is the only song on mayhem to crack the top 10 on the hot 100. 

 

yall are being hypocritical when gaga did the same thing first, and dwas is 75% brunos vocals if were being 100% honest.......

youre arguing a technicality. DWAS sounds misplaced on mayhem 

it was added purely to boost sales and streams dont do mental gymnastics to convince yourself otherwise. 

if it wasnt for die with a smile, mayhem would be a flop era. none of the other songs did well on the charts if were being 100% for real

when 67% of an albums streams come from one song DWAS, that says something. 

i dont blame gaga or cardi at all, i think theyre justified in doing so when all their peers are doing shady tactics too in order to break records

DWAS was only a few months old, not years olds

the stones being thrown aren't even reaching the lawn of the glass house babe
