I mean, she could have done a Vegas residency and people would have been fine with that, but since she's spreading them out a little bit, people are ticked? Make it make sense. Tours are expensive to move around. Doing multiple shows in fewer locations makes sense monetarily if and artist is trying to have a profitable tour, and if it's not profitable, they aren't going to tour at all, so this makes total sense to me.

These are my exact thoughts. Adele did a residency and Munich and people flew from wherever to be there, same in Vegas. Obviously fans prefer a tour and want to see her in their cities but artists are finding more enjoyment planting themselves in cities and having the fans come to them. Unfortunately, it is what it is.

I get it, but from the beginning she said this wasn’t going to be a huge tour with limited dates.

I do wonder why she decided to do 10 London shows and not like spread some of those dates to other countries in Europe.

I didn’t even get tickets but my ass will be going one way or another :fthis:

People need to understand LATAM doesn’t have the infrastructure nor professionalism to bring these massive artists. And I say that as a Latin American myself who works in the business.

A lot of the times countries simply do not have the state of the art equipment that make up these huge stages, and renting them is expensive, or the artist has to bring them (which cuts profit). That’s why we usually get modified and watered down stages, because it’s the only way to put the show without losses.

Then you have the fact that LiveNation doesn’t exist here, or representation is much more limited than other countries, so they have to find local production companies to put on the show, and that’s where lack of permits, delays and **** happens, because we just don’t have the qualified personnel to handle it all. There’s little music industry down here that isn’t local acts with small performances, so it really REALLY is hard to bring these A-list stars while keeping the integrity of the show intact.

And taxes here are crazy. In my country the artist has to forfeit like 30% of the tickets just to play here. It’s simply not an attractive place to play from the business aspect.

Now, would it have been nice for Arianna to foot the bill herself or play at a loss? Yes, but at the end of that day it’s still a business to her and her partners, and it makes no sense to spend 2 Million dollars in shipment and putting on the show if your profit is going to barely let you break even or even lose a few thousand bucks.

she's already making a loss by option out of dynamic pricing as well. she can't just opt out of every single profit making aspect of her tour and do the concerts for free either, her label would never allow that. :messga:

All concert tours these days are a f.ucking joke. From extremely limited runs to absolutely insane prices, out of control dynamic pricing with Ticketmaster holding us at ransom because they have the monopoly on ticket sales, tickets going on sale literally the day after the tours are announced with no care for the people who might need to plan first (literally Ashnikko announced her tour yesterday and tickets went on sale this morning), no announcements of what kind of tickets/packages are going to be sold until you get through the queue and into the checkout, absolutely no crowd control and insane antics at the venue doors that don't priorotise entry to those who were there first with no queueing systems, inhumanely hot venues with no air conditioning, tours being announced in random chunks with noone being told if there are or aren't more dates coming, only digital tickets now so if your phone goes flat you can't enter, ticketmaster freezing at the checkout and people losing tickets (this initially happened to me with my Gaga tickets and others I know). Its a goddamn MESS

I miss the days where it would be like: here is the entire confirmed world tour dates, tickets are going on sale in 3 weeks, there will be these 3 ticket packages (eg early entry, seats, GA), ONE presale for fans signed up to the mailing list to get first priority, and the nosebleed seats are gonna be cheap as **** so everyone gets a chance to go, tickets will be mailed to you or you can print them out. It used to be so amazing. Everything has fallen apart

I'll be myself until they fūcking close the coffin.

At least Ariana didn't use dynamic pricing. It was cute to see lower bowl seats at a reasonable price. And I love that her VIPest package includes the opportunity to write her a postcard.

However I don't ever remember touring being much different, aside from less dynamic pricing. The BTWB was pretty much put on sale 10 days after the first announcement (in Asia) which is very similar to how many days there were between Ariana's announcement and the tickets going on presale. Beyoncé also had similar presales.

Taylor did do something where fans who bought the album could allegedly get tickets first but even that was a mess because she only sent codes to SOME fans and those who never received codes were never able to buy tickets in the UK since she never opened the sale to people who never reiceved a code. :enigma:

Feel bad for LATAM and Asian fans

in usa I wish she did more cities instead of 3 stops at certain cities… like why 3 stops in Austin… why couldn’t she do 1 in Dallas so I don’t need to travel etc
