Streaming is not over, song streams are just a lot more spread out now and most people listen to more old material. The music released in 2026 is just not hitting.

This is why the charts don't mean sh.it anymore. There are so many factors at play that influence streaming that it's almost random how many streams a song gets in week 1 now

I guess yearly charts are a more accurate snapshot of how a song does now
