I always wished she had edited it back a bit: simple, pretty gray hair to let that instantly-notorious dress (& chunky jewelry) do all the heavy lifting.

The cheap blue dye felt like over styling to me.

Like adding ketchup onto steak (no pun intended lol).

I would say the same.

The only other one that comes close, imo, is JLo's 2000 Grammy's Versace dress. It was literally the reason Google Images was created after people became obsessed with trying to see it for themselves haha

It’s nice to see the inner workings of it, I presumed it was draped in her on the night and never knew it was a corset dress. Also love seeing what looks like an unused shoulder piece in the bathroom pic

Yes this WAS the most iconic from 2000 until 2010, and I think it’s still the most iconic RED CARPET one.

The look that killed the VMAs tbh

they were never the same after. Like at that point how do you genuinely top this? You just don’t. This is her bjork swan dress. Even the Miley performance gets looked at in hindsight and is like eh people overreacted. Truly I think this ended the VMAs as a stunt show. Just not getting topped.

kinda feel bad for beef cattle but this truly her peak moment, the highlight of her life. i like the way she holds up her beef skirt, especially with iconic grey-babyblue wig, one of my favorite look of all time.
