Lady Gaga – Mayhem

Gaga's first proper pop album in five years is a return to the devil-may-care maximalism that made her a star. Second single Abracadabra, a bombastic synth-pop stomper that borrows melodically from Siouxsie and the Banshees, climaxes with a ludicrous hook that only she could pull off: "Abracadabra, amor-oo-na-na!" But even when she's being silly – knowingly so – the singer is deadly serious in her pursuit of pop nirvana. Other highlights include the postmodern headbanger Perfect Celebrity, Prince-gone-punk theatrics of Killah and campy disco bop Zombieboy, which sounds a bit like Blondie soundtracking a horror film. This endlessly entertaining LP is also sprinkled with Gaga's own sonic signatures – see Garden of Eden's Poker Face-style stuttering vocal hook "I'll t-t-take you to the Garden of Eden". Mayhem isn't a misleading title, but "controlled chaos" sums up the whole endeavour more accurately. (Nick Levine)

Which other album is making more noise than MAYHEM in 2025? Tbh she deserves that win with this era, she did so much with it, Coachella, Copacabana, Abracadabra TOP 5 WW, DWAS WW Smash, TDD in his way to smash, istg if Mayhem doesnt win AOTY

Honestly it is. Virgin, Eusexua and Addison are better but that doesn’t mean Mayhem is a bad album. It’s a pretty strong album.

The only one you listed that’s even a contender is Eusexua (and even at that, I think a lot of it is still somewhat dull ROL reheats).

I hope this gets her back on the Brits stage because it has been WAAAAY too long since she has both been there (2010) and even been nominated (2014).

Keep the good press coming!!! We are in CRITICAL time frame for Grammys. Exactly 3 weeks from today nomination voting begins. 
 

The Haus has been working really well to build this campaign. In contrast, ya’ll want to know who isn’t doing ****? Kendrick. His last post in social media was in February. No new single since then, no new video since then. No TV appearances, no press, no interviews since. Only his world tour. If Grammys are a politics game, NOW is the time for them to go full “let’s give it to the artist that is putting in the work”, cause Gaga is clearing

yup, Kendrick hasn't made any noise in the past couple of months, after the initial Super Bowl hype nobody mentions him or his album anymore.

I'm starting to believe gaga is the main contender to AOTY atp, and it makes sense, she is everywhere since the Album release and the album is still popular 7 months after (especially now with a new hit in the making).

Gaga deserves this AOTY so much, the academy will be on the wrong side of history if they dont pick her.
