Yes I can still bring myself to cry over it if I wanted to. Its normal to have contradicting emotions that dont make sense. Im also not crying for him, but for everyone that witnessed it, his kids, what brought the shooter to do this..

You do NOT need to explain having empathy and love in your heart for humanity.

My opinion nobody asked for: :lana:

His reaction to mass shootings in the US, Gaza massacres and animal cruelty was ''oh well''. The world is allowed to react the same to his death even though killing is wrong. 🤷‍♀️ Stream ''Addison''.

Just now, Jester said:

I don't agree with the things he said, but he never called for the killing of minorities, and what he said was that  "it's worth" risking school shootings to keep the 2nd amendment (gross, but far from endorsing the shootings).

Saying something bad happening is a worthwhile cost and actively opposing policy designed to prevent that cost happening is an endorsement.
He repeatedly took money from Pro-2A organisations and profited off of those school shootings. Being an active accomplice is an endorsement.

He also has called for the killing of minorities. He explcitily, and repeatedly while alive, endorsed the Leviticus verses which condemn homosexuality and endorse the punishment of stoning for it and regularly stated he wanted to end the separation of church & state and enact biblical law. He cited Leviticus 20:13 as "God's pefect law".

On this topic, five Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) have received threats of violence today. The motives are currently unknown, but widely believed to be in response to the assassination yesterday.

The alleged shooter wasn't even black... :bear:

Just goes to show people will make up any reason to blame minorities or democrats when they haven't even caught the guy or found a motive...

Trump most of all should be ashamed to increase hate speech towards Democrats when there's no evidence for that. And even if there was...he should be UNIFYING the country...not dividing it even more

Mussolini was a dictator that had thousands of people killed.

Kirk organised debates where he said questionable things.

Crazy take.

I mean, agreed that he’s not on the same level as Mussolini, but labeling Kirk’s takes as “questionable” is also significantly whitewashing his rhetoric. This is a guy who said the Civil Rights Act was a mistake, helped orchestrate January 6th, and recently advocated for Trump using the military to occupy every American city. Kirk was clearly a fascist.

Way to divert attention away from the Epstein files. If it's not the case, it sure looks just like it

Unacceptable. NOTHING is "worth" risking school shootings. Especially not the fu©king 2nd amendment. This pro arms attitude against all odds places itself above children's safety and ultimately boils down to support these killings as collateral damage.

I live in a country with high rates of gun ownership and liberal firearms laws. Despite this, we have very low rates of gun-related crime, thanks to regulation

I mean the shooting happened the same day all but 2 Senate Republicans voted against forcing the release of the Epstein files and a few days after Charlie Kirk claimed Epstein was a Mossad agent running a political honey trap.

It also happened in a region where the FBI director appointed by Trump had recently fired the regional FBI lead.

Like....the conspiracy theories write themselves.

Kirk on the man who attacked Nancy Pelosi's husband

"And why is he still in jail? Why has he not been bailed out? By the way, if some amazing patriot out there in San Francisco or the Bay Area wants to really be a midterm hero, someone should go and bail this guy out. I bet his bail's like 30 or 40,000 bucks. Bail him out, and then go ask him some questions. I wonder what his bail is? They're going after him with attempted murder, political assassination, all this sort of stuff."

REALITY

I had so many thoughts about this situation yesterday, but the thread got locked

Let me say this: I don't feel a morsel of empathy for him whatsoever. He was one of the biggest voices in the Trump/MAGA sphere, and much of his rhetoric plagued people's minds with racism, xenophobia, homophobia, transphobia, and sexism. He has said so much sh*t about all kinds of groups of people that the fact that he brought up his own demise doesn't make me sad at all. I'm not mourning him, and I don't think you should be unless you are a defender of his or support his rhetoric.

To be frank, I find the online "backlash" to people's apathy toward the situation incredibly frustrating. We do not have to mourn him. We do not have to be sad he's gone. He didn't give a sh*t about children who were murdered in schools by gun violence, he didn't give a sh*t about queer people being berated for their existence, he didn't give a sh*t about immigrants or minority groups, and the list goes on. He didn't care about anyone except Trump and furthering this extremist, Christian, straight, white, male agenda. He wouldn't have cared if anyone else died, so there is no reason to expect that people are going to give him the same grace.

Also, the amount of "we may have had a difference of opinion..." posts I've seen is f*cking insane. THIS WAS NOT MERELY A DIFFERENCE OF OPINION. He was a Nazi and perpetuated hatred and bigotry of all kinds. Stop trying to downplay the kind of rhetorical sewage he spewed on a daily basis. Let's remember that words have consequences and power. The damage he (and people like him) have done will be more long-lasting than his death.

Lastly, this kind of goes with the last paragraph, but I find many celebrity/online leftist personalities' reactions to this extremely annoying. It's the same "we had a difference of opinion" bullsh*t sprinkled with "political violence is never the answer." News flash! This country was founded on political violence! "Political violence" isn't a new f*cking concept. People are acting like this is a recent thing, as if violence has never been used in the history of the US...Honestly, I think the situation has exposed a whole bunch of spineless leftists. People in Nepal are literally protesting and rioting against their corrupt ass government while we're over here like "omg but what about his friends and family??". You will never see anything remotely progressive done at a federal level in the foreseeable future because leftists always feel the need to placate the alt-right.

He has cited Leviticus 20:13 plenty of times, it directly states that gay people should be put to death.

lol as if he didn't deliberately contributed to the current situation of the US where thousands of immigrants and even just latino people are being deported and criminalized and must I remember the man he endorsed? must I remember seconds before he was aborted he was blaming gun violence on transgender people?

some of y'all don't take authoritarianism and fascism seriously until it reaches its last consequences and it shows. when you realize the power of discourse and rhetorics to build chaos and violence, you'll get it. remember, Adolf never killed a single person but his discourse and his politics did. His hands were not less dirty. As well as Charlie's.

May both of them rot in the pits of hell together.
