The thing I hate about Taylor’s numbers is how people think it makes Gaga’s numbers look bad, when in reality Gaga does excellent numbers, especially for someone this far into her career and approaching 40 (ageism is unfair but it’s real, sadly), 

Taylor is freakishly successful, but she’s really the only legacy pop girl who does numbers like that.  She’s the exception, not the rule.

I’d believe Taylor is the only woman in her 30’s (except maybe Adele, but even she had a major decline last time) who would do better first week numbers than Gaga in the US.
