I can get where she’s coming from, kinda sad when your personal fave isn’t the artist’s. I enjoyed the rollout for Scarlet so ****ing much, I think it’s my favorite album of her’s.

So basically: "I was angry and messy at the time and this album is basically me ranting and screaming. I feel better now and starting feel like my ranting and screaming back in the day is kinda cringe."

The ranting and screaming was just media fodder to promote the album. And bloggers claimed that RCA was trying to force her into rap music because pop is too competitive.

A lot of people are reading this as her trashing the album, but she literally starts her statement out saying that she's not diminishing it. Her referring to it as a "fart" is just her humor. She's just saying it was an emotional release. She went on to say that she really enjoys performing those songs. She also ended the interview saying she still doesn't listen to Hot Pink or Planet Her, but she can at least appreciate them. I think it's understandable that she doesn't vibe with music that is not only wrapped up in someone like Dr. Luke, who stole credits on those albums for songs he didn't produce, but albums she thinks could be better. Whether is better production or better writing or better vocals. But that's what Vie is for: she's doing the pop thing on her terms with an improved and refined skillset.
