I remember her releasing at least 8 digital versions with an exclusive track on each (like phone demos or accoustic versions) on her website, and I think those were never put on streaming services and were sold for a limited time too.

Thats fair, I was talking as part of the discussion on the physical variants.

The digital variants were a piss take.

truly don't understand why y'all fans are defending her cheap tactics and the way she's milking y'all... Everything she does is super calculated and strategic.

I literally criticize her more on this than some of the actual haters.

the thing is, with the extreme amount of variants put on a time limit with staggered releases, this isn't impressive at all

i'd like to see what numbers she'd make with just one version of one album

she'd still clear her peers but i doubt it'll touch a million

It’s still INCREDIBLY impressive

Why cant Gaga do numbers like this?

Come come capitalistic queen be our findom

Taylor appears younger than she is, her love life literally makes headlines, she writes songs explicitly about her celebrity exes and makes generic pop music. Plus her current popularity is because she re-released her old albums so nee and younger people are just discovering her old music that was released when they were like 3 years old.

Gaga keeps her personal life still pretty private, she doesn’t date other celebrities nor is she very public about her relationships to famous people (she’s literally best friends with Elton John and a godmother to his child and visits them all the time, but keeps that relationship private) and she experiments musically and lyrically. There’s a reason How Bad Do U Want Me is probably the most liked and successful non single song on Mayhem for example. It’s so generic we literally compared it to Taylor’s music lol when it’s actually more Born This Way/80s coded if anything.

if Gaga re-recorded The Fame/Monster and put it out again (with extra songs) I think her popularity would sky rocket again. Because there’s literally people who are freshly 18 now and going to clubs who were fully 2 years old when she debuted.

Gaga CAN easily make successful songs (DWAS for example) where it’s just pop music about love and simple messages and melodies, and GREAT generic pop music (HBDUWM) and I think she made that song specifically to show she still can make that music. She just chooses not to because it’s not as creatively fulfilling.

See this is why I think Gaga wouldn't sky rocket again.

Like compare BRAT's cultural impact and virality with its chart performance.

Dance music still has a big fan base, and there is definitely always going to be a market for it. But clubbing culture in the largest western markets is dying if not dead.
Late night bars and clubs have been under threat for a decade at this point, we're reaching extinction classifications now in some places.

Social media & the 2008 crash killed mainstream scale club culture.
