I'll be there tomorrow since I have tickets for the show! My guess is they are maybe going to film extra shots/footage and it will be used in a concert movie or some type of recorded performance.

You need permits the moment filming activity begins.  There are probably camera crews loading in equipment, blocking the show, etc.
