Billboard reveals the Top 5 Producers of the 21st Century

Of the 300-plus producers who led the Hot 100 from charts dated Jan. 1, 2000, through Dec. 28, 2024, fewer than half managed a second No. 1, and only 33 earned at least four. To break ties in our top 25, Billboard ranked which producers had the most Hot 100 top 10s in the tracking period, followed by the most overall entries on the chart.


1. Max Martin • Martin has 25 Hot 100 No. 1s — the most for any producer in the Hot 100’s 67-year history. 
2. Dr. Luke • His credits include 17 Hot 100
3. Cirkut •  10 No. 1s
4. Shellback • 9 No. 1s
5. Stargate • 9 No. 1s

6. Beyonce
7. Jack Antonoff
8. Benny Blanco
9. Jermaine Dupri
10. Timbaland
11. Louis Bell

Wait so if this is because of Billboard success, why on earth is Beyoncé number 6? We already know she ain’t doing much producing, and she has had NOWHERE near as much chart success as Taylor sooooo what???

I'd make the assumption she has more #1s where she is credited as a producer than Taylor. Since that's the only criteria for the list.

It’s based on Billboard chart entries and how many times the name appears as a producer on said tracks, it’s not opinion based ranking.
