Ziggy 11,870
Madame X was an interesting album Like a Prayer Immaculate Collection is great and so fun her first great album is true blue by refusing to become a legacy artist she has kind of shot herself in the foot and not been afforded the rosey glow some of her peers have gotten. EY absolutely does sound like BTW but she handled it like Nicki handles these things now which is to say boring, petty, and unbecoming of someone iconic. Makes yourself look less iconic to spar with newbies even if they’re drafting off of you. Erotica is better than almost her entire discography ROL is a great album however I think it gets unfairly attributed a lot of landmarks of electronic music in popular music that actually starts with Homogenic (she was drafting off bjork herself for dec amount of the 90s imo). Her success gets reduced to sleeping her way around but no one would be what she was without being who she is—fierce, tenacious, a fighter, perfectionist, etc. i think the work she’s had done looks cool

Material Girl, Like A Virgin, Like A Prayer, and Vogue are referenced, covered, or sampled almost constantly in pop culture. Hung Up and Frozen have also both had viral moments on social media fairly recently (in past few years). Then you have the songs like Papa Don’t Preach, La Isla Bonita, and Ray of Light that are pretty well played on 80s/90s stations and HAC/AC radio British social ladies with upturned pinkies, glasses clinking // xoxoTEANUS

Do you like the album Like a Prayer or just the song? I'm asking since you mentioned specific songs from the 80s in your first post. 2010 - 2019 well.. MDNA: Masterpiece, Love spent, Gang Bang. Rebel Heart: only Ghost town. Madame X: omg none.. Like a Prayer: self titled, Express 🖤 (in her top 10), Cherish. The album is average but that songs are good! And aesthetically her music used to had something very nice back then. Edited August 5 by HermesG

They assume this because she put out the Sex book not long afterwards so they conflate the two (Justify My Love was also not on Erotica but a lot of people think it is). In actuality, Erotica is barely about sex, especially not explicitly. - Bedtime Stories is one of her most underrated albums and so much better than Erotica. - Dangerous Game was her best acting role ever (yet barely anyone have seen it). - The original, banned version of the American Life music video is one of the best music videos of all time. - Confessions on a Dancefloor is her most overrated album and there's only about 2 songs I actually like on it. - Rebel Heart isn't that bad. ok I like you again and maybe its me that flip flops

Anytime, in any way. They tried for 15 years. I must admit this : they are pretty determined even in failure. We know which option is the rigjt one. In any way that sharing message moment at her show should be stopped in the future because it's open door to any kind of hate message.
