This would only make sense if they hadn’t let 6-SOLO-album Sabrina Carpenter be nominated for Best New Artist.

In that case why the hell was Chappel Roan allowed to win last year, not to mention Sabrina being nominated after her sixth album?

It was last year. I just meant since she’d been doing music for years before that, but I can see why it’s different in Chappel’s situation since she was very unknown until last year, unlike the Blackpink members.

In that case, even Beyonce could have been nominated for Best New Artist for her first solo era.

The BLACKPINK girls are already established in the industry, has a lot of fans, everyone knows who they are and they didn't gain a sudden success, they can easily hit top 10 with minimum marketing..

#23 and 18k (7k pure sales) is standard for fans-specific debut.
