For context he doesnt like Powell because he wont lower interest rates for him.

 

So Trump tried to use controversy of some cost overruns on a renovation at the Fed (Powell wouldnt manage that renovation btw) by seriously inflating the numbers to make overruns seem way worse than they actually were by adding a building that was already completed 5 years ago to the math

Powell is NOT intimidated by Trump...thats why Trump cant stand him because hes one of the few people that has no problem challenging his nonsense

It's a shame how people have just normalized Trump's behavior and everyone is so desensitized to his bs. If you think about it, he comes across as very dumb and un-presidential here, but most people won't even bat an eye because for his standards, this is one of his tamer and less demented moments. Everyday, I'm sad about the sh**show that US politics has become.

I also respect that they are sticking with policy that is appropriate and so far not caving to pressure from Trump (even tho he shouldnt have to because the Fed is supposed to be independent but you know Trump)
