Forget the chart position for a second, it's radio that was the problem. Please tell me why a song that was Top 10 US & WW on Spotify for a month received literally 0 airplay in those critical initial weeks. And then we're all cheering about her radio support legit in June... because it took them such a long time to even play the song. I wish they would have penned a radio deal to support Debra-- a song like that definitely needs a push given the risk. I love that she doesn't play it safe, but I'd argue this was a big miss.

Abracadabra would have done it too if she released physical singles for that extra push but she doesn't do that anymore.

I mean I doubt it's due to an environmental issue. It probably just costs a lot more to produce these vinyls and the end result is lower margin maybe. I kinda wish she would release them for fans who want to purchase the record itself, artwork, etc. because this music deserves it. I don't think ~10-20K superfans would throw it in the landfill one day lol.

It is! I’ve never liked Taylor’s music except for a handful of songs (I Knew You Were Trouble, Delicate) but The Fate Of Ophelia, as basic as it is, is the perfect basic song, and the perfect lead single for her album.
