She skipped ARTPOP for superbowl & Coachella 2025 (but yeah, she made up with inclusions of few AP songs in Coachella 2017)

I mean in all fairness with the Superbowl set she basically paid Joanne dust with just 1 song from it considering it was during the Joanne album cycle/era.
But she also had a 7 song set so it was never going to be an indepth tour of her music.

But her skipping ARTPOP songs for 1 promo tour is hardly a snub considering it made it onto JWT/Coachella 17/Engima & Mayhem Ball.

What people seem to forget is the actual origin of an Act 2.

She originally posted on LittleMonsters.com (rip) that she was going to release the Pop side and the harder EDM tracks on 2 separate CDs, but later down the line she chose to put them all on one album because otherwise it would defeat the purpose of what ARTPOP meant to her in the first place. Obviously down the line she said she had a whole albums worth of unreleased material at SXSW and out of annoyance to the public reception of the album she said she was gonna keep it to herself.

Thats literally all it was, but then over the years that got chopped and changed by fans and then DJWS wanted to release the songs he made and loved. Zedd literally said when fans asked him online that all of the songs he did with her that were finished and not just beat scratches or melody tests made it into the album.

Also legally, Troy Carter was an exec producer on the album so if Gaga wanted to release them she’d have to have him involved and he’d get royalties. Which she doesn’t want to be associated with him and the terrible time she was going through in 2012/13.

That’s only partially true. She also stated that the ARTPOP would regularly be a place she could release additional ARTPOP songs to. She also stated well after that ARTPOP Act II is real and that her and her friends listen to it. There however is no *finished* album called ARTPOP Act II. There’s tons of demos and some finished songs - which we know from the leaked legal docs. But then you have legal snags with old management - changing of hands of songs like NOBTR. There’s hurdles that make it no easy feat to release an ARTPOP Act II

I do admit it's a bit curious that the outro songs have all been ARTPOP tracks so far :oprah:

I know some of you won't like what I'm about to say for some reason, but I really think she's been taking a few pages out of Taylor's book lately. Some aspects of the show have really brought to mind key aspects of the Eras Tour, like the light wristbands and the catwalk being one long screen with constant animations. I know these were not Taylor's inventions, but they were essential aspects of what made the Eras Tour pretty unique.

More to the point, Gaga's been getting really cryptic this era and has enjoyed dropping little easter eggs here and there for us to figure things out, which is something she hasn't done in ages and arguably a method made quite infamous by Taylor. I do think the unknown lyrics on her merch and website will lead somewhere, and I feel like these outro songs are shaping up to having a purpose. This is pretty exciting.

the wristbands thing has been a standard for pop tours (especially stadiums) since at least 2015, taylor swift did not invent that. coldplay have used them, so have beyoncé. i think even gaga had them for the chromatica ball.

the catwalk being screens i believe was also something that beyoncé started doing a long time ago, i believe her superbowl halftime show was the first time she really used the floor as a screen and it started being a thing since then.

not everything is related to taylor smith :wtfga:

You missed the point entirely. She included snippets of LoveGame, Paparazzi The Edge of Glory and DANCE IN THE DARK in the intro part.

She included a B-side but not the lead single from ARTPOP which was arguably one of her most recent and bigger hits (than Lovegame Paparazzi etc) at that time.

We all have to acknowledged that she did left out ARTPOP for a period of time before she starts to embrace it again

Fully disagree. Because the Superbowl happened in the same year Coachella & JWT happened which both included ARTPOP songs. The period of time was less than 2 complete months between Superbowl LI and Coachella 2017.

If that's enough to count as a snub then the word has lost meaning.

If not including a tiny bit of ARTPOP/Applause from superbowl is not called snub (but including a snippet of DITD), im not sure what else is 🤷🏻‍♂️

Regardless, she is back with ARTPOP for fans now and most fans are more than happy.

A snub in the context of this discussion was a continuous period of the album being ignored by Gaga. The discussion, which you appear to have not read, started with discussing the myth that Gaga hated ARTPOP and has been avoiding it for years.

She's skipped it on 1 singular tour. Its been performed in every other era besides the Chromatica era.

ARTPOP has never been snubbed. And its deepcuts have recieved love from Gaga on tours and shows in a number of eras now.

I literally said none of these were Taylor's inventions. And I also predicted some would get mad at my post for some reason, you are literally the fulfillment of my prophecy :ladyhaha:

As I mentioned, I believe these elements were central to the visual aspect of the Eras Tour, which was arguably the biggest tour from a pop act in recent memory and a major cultural moment, which is making me think Gaga might have taken a few notes. And once again, nothing wrong with using an idea when it's good and when it makes a show better. It's literally not about who did it first, tho I know y'all love to turn everything into a **** contest.

Madonna had catwalk displays on the Confessions tour in 2006 and the KylieX2008 tour was one massive screen stage.

Ima fight you sis over Beyonce being first 😂

While I agree that the Eras tour did help set a new standard.

I think the specific parts you're discussing aren't necessarily part of that Eras tour standard though.

The light up wristbands have been a present part of many stadium shows for the past decade - especially Coldplay. And we're just seeing them more now because we're seeing more stadiums tour than ever before.

I do think Taylor helped popularise stage screens based on her staging. Especially for performers who aren't skilled dancers - its a great way to accentuate simplistic choreo. And its entirely possible the Poker Face chess sequence used that idea as a spring board. But there are a lot of acts who have done similar that are influential to Gaga so they equally may have inspired Gaga with that staging.
