After I heard how the original has the rasp, I get the point Jojo wanted to make. However, she could've down it down a bit. 

However, part of me wonders if this is a troll just like Trishas cover of Shallow from 2019.

Yup.  She’s not the original artist in the same way that Whitney isn’t the original artist to sing “I Will Always Love You,” and Reba isn’t the original artist to sing “Fancy.”  They may not be the originals, but they’re damn sure their signature songs.

To be fair, what she said isn’t really shady. It just sounds like she’s saying “if you’re going to cover a song, make sure it’s not an imitation. Sing it using what makes YOU special.”

Idk if it's shade... Lots of artists post something to remind people that they originated the song when a cover comes out, especially stars who arent as big anymore.

Am I the only one who thinks that JoJo's cover really isn't that bad at all? She tries to sound like the original pretty well and she's not out of tune or anything. Are people hating it just because it's her?
