but u really don't know much, you mostly know Jews and Muslims from the US and they are most of the times, different, most of the American Jews are Reformed Jews and they even do gay weddings, this is far from the real picture of Judaism outside of the US.

Did you know that in orthodox cities in Israel women needs to sit at back sits on the bus while men are in the front? or in Jerusalem in certain orthodox neighborhoods women has to walk on the left sidewalk and men on the right sidewalk and women are forbidden to sing because the men shouldn't hear their voices? during divorced the men is throwing a show and spitting on the woman and screams "banished banished banished" and I can give a looong list of example. and this is just in Judaism.

I'm sorry but there is a big world outside and it's not as beautiful as it looks and the oppression is real, coming with sweet feminist words is not gonna make a change.

Honestly this thread is 7 pages of people arguing over the deliberately planned distraction from the actual purpose of this law. 

The politicians promoting are from an authoritarian regime and have actively said the bill is about making surveillance easier. 

Philosophical arguments about religion and choice are irrelevant because thats not the point of the law. 

This is not a law about "lets end forced oppression of women in religious communities". Women will not be made safer under this law. 

This is a law designed to make ir easier for an authoritarian state to spy on its citizens.

No woman is made safer by this law. Because any potential benefit of banning religious face coverings are outweighed by the threat possed by the state.

Anyway, by the logic of this law (and the argument being made here) the solution to these issues is to mandate that women MUST sit at the front of the bus, never in the back. They MUST sing, they can never speak. They MUST walk on the right side of the sidewalk, never the left. 

It's just replacing one cultural extreme that they have the chance to escape from with a legally mandated one where they'll be criminally charged for disobeying.

Annnnnd like @Bronco said, it's not even being done for an altruistic reason, it's literally being done so the government can collect and store biometric data from women which is something we should all be opposed to.
