This is still pissing me off seeing it all over the news is so frustrating

I lowkey feel prosecution was too  reliant on the testimony of their witnesses alone, they needed an expert witness there explain the psyche of an abuse victim to these damn jurors because they clearly dont get it.

Edit: Actually they had one which makes this verdict much more frustrating and leaves me feeling so powerless i can't even Imagine how his victims feel

It's better than nothing but should be so much more substantial. It doesn't suggest the sentence will be big. I just don't think the jury had much sympathy for the victims because of how long they stayed and that they tried to show enthusiasm for freak offs just to protect themselves. There really should have been a psychiatrist to address the court to educate them about coercive control and abusive relationships as there's still a shockingly low rate of understanding about this within the public. The sheer amount of victim blaming the defence made was shameful. No wonder so many of us consider lawyers to be money-obsessed vipers who earn off the backs of other's grief.

People need to remember that trials are always dependent on the prosecution and the partially the jury. It’s very much like the Trayvon Martin case that should’ve jailed George Zimmerman, but the prosecution just didn’t do their job.

I don’t know the full breakdown of this trial, but clearly the jury wasn’t convinced. And when in trial it’s not about our 3rd party feelings about Diddy. The jury may have already had a verdict of him being guilty in their own minds. But if the case brought forth to them didn’t convince them to connect the charges to the crime, then that’s that. It sucks but the reality is our justice system isn’t about actual justice. It’s about which side, defense or prosecution, can put on the best presentation.

The issue is that most jurors are completely randomised selections who have no background in, or knowledge of, law. I had to do jury duty and can confirm everyone was just a regular person and the only reason any of us were waived the opportunity to be selected is if we knew anyone involved. But this jury seemed to be chosen in a very shady way. 8 out of 12 were men, most of which were of elderly age, only 2 jurors were younger than 40. And bizarrely, everyone who was a potential selection was asked if they'd ever suffered sexual abuse and anyone who had wasn't chosen, which tells you all you need to know. There already was a system in place to hopefully prevent anyone who had any experience or true understanding of abuse taking part in the deciding. I watched in-depth breakdowns of this trial and can confirm that jurors were smirking, rolling/widening their eyes, looking bored/disinterested and even falling asleep. It was clear they looked upon these victims as young and dumb gold diggers who were probably just as secretly freaky as Diddy but were ashamed of it.

There was also an extreme lack of understanding as to what sex trafficking is. Most people believe it's about random girls being snatched off the street, shoved in a van, transported over state lines, being chained to a wall and being forced into relations with multiple men every day without breaks or any freedom. Because these victims cases wasn't remotely like that, they just didn't see it as involuntary. And texts from the victims making references to enjoying freak offs and even helping organise them was what really shot them in the foot because, again, there's a lack of understanding about coercive control and how victims will try to play along just to protect themselves. A sad day all round of victims and women in general. This is why so few victims come forward. When nothing gets done, you not only have the weight of your abuse depressing you, you additionally have to live with the shame of having everyone know who you are and potentially laughing at you behind your back and calling you a liar. May his victims find some route to justice and peace.
