ThisGuyTony 29,631 Posted yesterday at 01:37 AM Share Posted yesterday at 01:37 AM Disney and Pixar‘s animated adventure “Elio” crash-landed in its box office debut, earning a dismal $14 million overseas and $35 million globally. Those ticket sales rank as the worst-ever for Pixar, the animation empire behind “Toy Story,” “The Incredibles” and “Finding Nemo.” Prior to this weekend, 2023’s “Elemental” held the ignominious title of lowest-grossing debut with $14.9 million internationally and $44.5 million worldwide. With great word-of-mouth, “Elemental” enjoyed staying power throughout the summer and climbed to $496 million globally. https://variety.com/2025/film/news/elio-craters-box-office-global-28-years-later-opening-weekend-1236437602/
Chesescake 3,976 Posted yesterday at 01:45 AM Share Posted yesterday at 01:45 AM (edited) Well that's mean more reworks and sequels I guess Edited yesterday at 01:46 AM by Chesescake 2
Roughhouse Dandy 11,112 Posted yesterday at 01:55 AM Share Posted yesterday at 01:55 AM (edited) It's a cute movie! It feels like anytime Pixar tries to put out something touching on a less cookie-cutter message, suddenly they run out of money for proper marketing. Go out and actively support original films if you want to see more original films. If you don't then don't complain when all we get is a Monsters Inc prequel of the Monsters Inc prequel to the Monsters Inc prequel against a 57th Minions movie from illumination Edited yesterday at 02:09 AM by Roughhouse Dandy This is my Hannah Montana™️ lipgloss. 7

RAMROD 108,673 Posted yesterday at 02:05 AM Share Posted yesterday at 02:05 AM People mocks Hollywood when they do remakes, and yet didn't support new original movies like this. Make it make sense. skaxboy 5,331 Posted yesterday at 03:19 AM Share Posted yesterday at 03:19 AM I plan on watching it this week. I didn’t wanna go opening weekend because I don’t wanna be around a bunch of children. It looks like a pretty cool movie from the small clips on the trailers I’ve seen. I haven’t watched the full trailer because they usually give away a lot, but I know it’s about a boy who gets abducted by nice aliens.

That's why I sneak food in lol, but my local theater started doing 2 dollar tickets before 3 on weekdays so now I can justify paying for popcorn (and alcohol lol) Edited yesterday at 03:31 AM by Lil1th Papa Papa rot see 1
Lil1th 489 Posted yesterday at 03:34 AM Share Posted yesterday at 03:34 AM Hilarious everyone complains about sequels (I enjoy them personally) but don't want to see original movies, this happens every time. But it will probably do ok on Disney+ that seems to be the trend lately, which I understand taking kids to a theater and trying to make them sit through a movie and be quiet can be hard. River 115,130 Posted yesterday at 04:35 AM Share Posted yesterday at 04:35 AM To be fair, we just had Lilo and Stitch and How To Train Your Dragon live actions one week after the another and now Elio.. it's a bit much, especially for families with 2+ kids. Killa 17,414 Posted yesterday at 05:04 AM Share Posted yesterday at 05:04 AM The movie was advertised no? From the trailers i saw, the idea seems funny enough. The aesthetic doesn't make It pop up to me. Honestly there was nothing telling this Is a movie i Need tò Watch.
Davidsdaze 323 Posted yesterday at 05:15 AM Share Posted yesterday at 05:15 AM I literally never heard of this. The marketing push could have been better, but we have also come off of the atrocity that was the remake for lilo and stitch and Snow White. It’s unsurprising If Anne Hathawill, Anne Hathaway.
