I think artists should put their foot down and band together on it.

Roughhouse Dandy 11,128
I support confiscating phones for all live productions 100%. People don't know how to act with them and the disconnect is real. Gathering for productions used to be a place to feel a part of something together and making friends and now for so many its about a cute insta pic and getting follows for going live. It's not cute. This is my Hannah Montana™️ lipgloss.

Sometimes the disconnect starts with the artist and their sub par stage presence and showmanship, lacklustre vocals and/or lip syncing.

Sure! Being able to look into the audience and be met with faces instead of phone cameras will help stage presence. The other stuff is up to the performer. These are exactly the kind of "performers" that need to work on their showmanship before getting on stage or banning phones though. Some of them are so worried about their mess up being caught on video. Edited Friday at 02:31 AM by RenegAde
RenegAde 19,014
In my opinion being able to capture the moment and relive it in some form is also a valid form of enjoying the moment. Not to mention most of the footage ends up online for millions of people who just couldn't be there to share in the moment. It can be an incredibly bonding experience for fans who live in "world" tour relegated territories who otherwise would never get included. skaxboy 5,332
If you’re gonna use your phone at a show, please turn down the brightness. It isn’t much of an issue if you’re sitting in the bowl seats. Floor seats or GA floor can be annoying af if someone has their phone up and you’re behind them. I usually hold my phone under my chin or my chest and hope it’s recording correctly. 1 hour ago, faysalaaa said: She does a decent job Which of her tour(s) have you been to? Ticket prices are forever going up, I’d like to at least have a photo/video to remember the night. Honestly it was more consistent and common for shows to be released prior to the explosion of folks recording shows.
TheARTPOPball 376
I recorded a lot of videos of the Chromatica ball, k-12 tour, Portals,Trilogy tour, Pink Friday 2 tour and i regularly go back and watch those videos. I dont think it diminished my concert experience in any way. I look at the Chromatica ball as one of the best nights of my life. Im sorry others wanna be control freaks and get annoyed by phone usage but i dipped into my bill money buying those tickets, so id like to have mementos of it. No different than taking photos of the aquarium, or at baseball games. Capturing memories is fine. I will never again be at the Chromatica Ball with my Ex Mother in law having the time of my life at the age of 22. I think artists lose touch with their audience because its their job to perform and they do it several times a week but for the regular consumer that can be a once in a lifetime event.
