I truly don’t get it.. I think it might be her best piece of work she ever put out.

The whole album is cohesive, her vocals are phenomenal, the production is *chef's kiss*

Is it that “experimental” as she mentioned? Not so much..

Do I get the “visuals” from the album? Not rly..

but c’mon I have ears , and the music is great!

I streamed Something Beautiful once today, by accident. It played after I streamed Mayhem on Spotify. I let it play to 1 minute just to help.

I’m sorry but this album is a solid 5/10. I absolutely love Miley and her iconic voice, but this album reeks of pretension, as if she’s trying to make a grand statement but ends up saying nothing important at all. And if she wasn’t going for strong lyrics, then at least make it easy or fun to listen to (like Addison) which it’s not. Why are there 3 purposeless interludes? To give the impression of real Art? The second half of the album is good, but not groundbreaking and still a little cheesy at times. If she edited this down & reworked a song or two, it would be more on par with Plastic Hearts. The album is really lacking a concept and cohesion and it feels like She is Coming Part 2.

It’s not that great - the songs are hard to digest and then she switches most of them up 1/2 way through to something less digestible. The movie wasn’t even a movie - it was just one music video then her walking to another 😂 she should have worried less about “ruining the visuals for the movie” and released something like Easy Lover first or even Every Girl You Ever Loved even tho all the Naomi stuff is low key cringe. 
 

to top all of that off, you have her being like - oh I already made the next album and I have to be here for this but I’m over it - just like ESV - It’s a Naur

I am honeslty surprised there is so much praise for the album here… like did we hear the same thing?

I tried to like it, none of the songs had me wanting to go back and listen again, and I loved both ESV and Plastic Hearts. 

I listened a second time yesterday trying to like it. I will give it a third go today

Have y'all seen the video of Miley at the Something Beautiful premiere where she's on stage talking about it and her fans are yelling at her? One of them yelled "I paid so much for this are you even gonna sing?"  Moments later, another fan yelled "Sing The Climb!" and Miley awkwardly started singing The Climb. It was cringey and uncomfortable to watch.
