Gaga Breaks Record For Longest Top 10 Hit By A Female Artist in History

Gaga has officially broken the record for the longest Billboard Hot 100 top 10 by a lead female artist for Die With A Smile. 

 

She did that 17 years into her career! Queen behaviour. 

Recording Academy: I better see an AOTY, SOTY, ROTY, Pop Vocal Album, Pop Solo, Dance/Pop Recording, Best Pop/Duo, Best Music Video, Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album, Best Rock Performance sweep at next years Grammys!

A "lead artist" that has two whole lines to herself in the song  

I just wish she'd break a record like this with a song that's actually hers 'cause nobody will ever convince me that DWAS isn't "Bruno Mars ft. Lady Gaga"

This is true. For it to be more equal, the person who went second should have taken over the melody in the choruses. 

Whitney and Mariah’s duet “When You Believe” is divided this way and it makes it seem close to equal. 

Bruno going first *and* continuing to sing the melody does make him seem like a larger presence on the song. 
 

edit: not to say I don’t love it the way it is! Who knows? Maybe they even tried it out that way and it didn’t work as well.

Well, it was released as a Lady Gaga & Bruno Mars song regardless of how many lines she sings. Clearly a strategic move considering that Bruno had no plans for an album.

It's such a non-issue honestly, I'll just never get over how much I hate how DWAS is handled  

It's a song that started as one of Bruno's projects, he brought Gaga in to finish writing and to collab, they released it together as a standalone single, it did well, and suddenly it's on her album and she's the lead artist and she's breaking records for it? 

Idk, like I said, non-issue, but I'd rather see her break these records with a song that's actually hers  

But the charts are tasteless and only her duets can hit #1

Who cares about who DWAS is from?

What matters is that Gaga's name is in it, she made money off it, she gained popularity thanks to it, and that it put her back on the map, DWAS was an amazing promo for everything that came after that and it continues to break records most importantly with her name on it 

So thank God it was a collaboration that brought so much joy cuz it could have been the opposite like so many other collaborations, accept this gift with grace cuz its what we deserve periodttt,
