Banning gay marriage won't take away their deepest desires and thoughts away. We know what they are. :anveeroy:

I have no words.

Why the fuсk are they so obsessed with what other people do with their lives? It's like me getting mad at someone for eating a doughnut because I'M on a diet. Like see how stupid that is????

It's the lack of intelligence (and more specifically emotional intelligence), luv. They are literally incapable of feeling empathy because of their lackluster cognitive and emotional ability. The fanatic clinging to an ancient religious dogma is another clear sign of this. I'm not saying this to try and make us feel superior but honestly, we kind of are. :icant:

Not being part of their cult would destoy the already shaky foundation of their lives so much so, that it is literally impossible for their fragile minds to see anything else but their indoctrination as the truth. :enigma:

It's just a pity that these borderline idiots hold such power over other people's lives for no damn reason. :air:

As someone who is only a new adult (legally) this is terrifying. I’m not even sure if I ever want to get married, but it’s a slippery slope from the banning of marriage to all kinds of other discriminatory acts and laws. I don’t understand why some people refuse to accept that homosexuality is natural and always has been. I’m so sorry to anyone living the US right now. Sometimes people like this make me want to go and hide in the mountains for the rest of my life

It's been scientifically proven that heavily religious people have less activity in regions of the brain responsible for critical thinking, observing their own errors, learning new things and altering their views. Their brains are literally trained to not function properly or effectively

I remember back in around 2010-2016 it felt like there was this huge push forward to a move positive and accepting world. Things felt so hopeful. Body positivity movements destroying the 'cocaine chic' ideals of the 2000's and embracing all body types. Movements to include and give equality to POC and LGBTQIA+ communities. A tonne of talk and education about sexual consent and support for abuse victims. Destigmatisation of mental health in general. The tides felt like they were changing. When gay marriage started being legalised across the world it felt like the dominoes were falling to lay the foundations for a better world and if felt sooo celebratory. People felt kinder, things felt safer, it finally felt like everyone was starting to have a seat at the table

Then somehow everything crashed and burned and started to reverse. I remember that positive feeling so clearly, but looking back, I now feel like it was naïve to believe these changes would last. It felt like once society had finally shifted for the better it was laid in stone, and that it could only continue to improve exponentially. I guess none of us realised that the vehicle could move in reverse. I find myself missing those times more and more. Sometimes I think it's just a symptom of getting older or that I'm looking back with rose coloured glasses, but it's not. Things were legitimately better

I'll be myself until they fūcking close the coffin.

Incredibly ironic since homosexuality has been observed in hundreds of species including well known animals such as lions, penguins, giraffes, etc. lol

You can't beat religious people with facts. They already commit their lives to delusional fantasies of gods and fairytales.

All you can do is tell them to f*ck off tbh.

I was raised in a devout Baptist family and jfc :saladga: normal Christians are bad enough but these people are especially f*cking nuts...

I don’t think people realize that banning gay marriage is coming. If SCOTUS can get rid of AA and Roe, gay marriage doesn’t stand a chance.

Reversing that decision won't ban gay marriage, it'll remove it as a "right".

Biden also signed a bill into law that codified same sex marriage rights.

So these people will need to escalate to the SCOUTS, convince them to overturn Obergefell v. Hodges, then petition the House to write a bill overturning SSM rights, then petition the Senate to pass that bill, then beg Trump to sign that bill, THEN they'll have to get every individual state to ban it.

Absolute worst case scenario is some of these f*cked up southern states end up nullifying the existing same sex marriages of people who live in those states.

At the moment, yes, it's crap upon crap. But I remain optimistic for the world, that we are going through a bad patch and that we will come out of it and carry on with progress, which truly IS our nature. Two steps forward one step back, that cycle repeated is good in the long run.

Hey, just remember as recently as 2020 we could legally be fired for being gay.

Hell, before 2003 (I think) just having sex with someone of the same sex was illegal.

In the 1970s we were deemed mentally ill and subjected to horrifying "treatments".

We're in a rough spot but the world is much better than it used to be and progress is undeniable. As long as we stay strong, this little step backwards will just be a speedbump in history, nothing more.
