Teletubby 146,483 Posted yesterday at 07:13 PM Share Posted yesterday at 07:13 PM (edited) SEVENTEEN scores their seventh top 10-charting album, as SEVENTEEN 5th Album HAPPY BURSTDAY debuts. The set launches with 48,500 equivalent album units earned. Of that sum, album sales comprise 46,000 (it debuts at No. 1 on Top Album Sales), SEA units comprise 2,500 (equaling 3.26 million on-demand official streams of the set’s songs) and TEA units comprise a negligible sum. The set’s album sales were aided by its availability across 14 CD variants, all containing collectible paper ephemera, some randomized. Miley Cyrus achieves her 15th top 10-charting set on the Billboard 200 as Something Beautiful bows at No. 4. It starts with 44,000 equivalent album units earned. Of that sum, album sales comprise 27,000 (it debuts at No. 2 on Top Album Sales), SEA units comprise 17,000 (equaling 22.18 million on-demand official streams of the set’s songs) and TEA units comprise a negligible sum. (Cyrus’ tally of 15 top 10s is inclusive of her albums billed to her Disney Channel character Hannah Montana.) Something Beautiful’s first-week sales were bolstered by its availability across six vinyl variants (including one signed, sold in Cyrus’ webstore), a standard CD, a signed CD (exclusive to Cyrus’ webstore) and two deluxe CD boxed sets (sold via her webstore, each containing branded merch and a copy of the album). Not the best time to release music given everything that's going on. I mean promos lately have been really dull, doesn't really encourage people to go out and buy music when they can just stream :p hopefully this encourages artists to do a bit more and get back more in return. Here Miley shoot herself in the foot a bit as well with the odd ai generated promo texts which turned off a lot of people, then the no big hit moments from the scandals and the no tour to look forward to.. it adds up. Pandacadabra 8,620
Wow, I didnt expect it to be that low. Even 143 debuted with higher numbers.
whoresup 2,550
I think it’s hard to cultivate a loyal fan base if you’re not out there touring or performing.

I think it has more to do with the state of the industry as a whole. Who really lasts anymore and has consistent sales? Gaga's sales haven't been accurate to her predictions for years. The way we consume and engage with music is changing.

monketsharona 79,470
Her current promo campaign based on trashing her past records / projects is trully terrible tbh This plus the fact the album is boring... Did the album only sell 119k units despite having Flowers as the lead single? We should be happy that Mayhem debuted with 219k units.

Regretting not seeing her at Summerfest to this day. Religion is a product to sell.
