the album is growing on me but I don't think I'm going to return to it often, or at all.

Upon a few listen, this album is not bad, it just lacks something. It just feels understated and unfinished. I likened it to going to a shop that's so unique and I enjoyed my time there after a couple of visit, but ultimately found that the store is not what I'm looking for and hence, I won't be coming back anymore. And perhaps, most of the first day listeners feels the same way too, which might explain the drop. So that is unfortunate.

Really? I'm slowly digesting it and find it very pleasant. It's not the instant classic that Plastic Hearts was, but it's definitely more interesting and overall better than ESV.

I like how we both think differently about ESV but still slowly finding the charm in the new one

i mean.. its a weird choice to promote the entire thing as a visual album but don't release the visuals for the album? 😅 im pretty certain the visual part will be stunning, but by that time most people will be like "huh.. i guess it's not as bad as i thought" and move on. There're maybe four songs i quite enjoy and maybe two i'll put on my gym playlist.

I don't think that they don't work, her visuals are just not that interesting... in the sense that it's not something people might share or want to watch over and over again, they are just there and I think they don't elevate the songs at all

I still have yet to listen to the album as I keep forgetting she even has one out....

Even if I do remember...I think about how much I disliked the singles so I dont want to bother hearing the rest of the album searching for 1 or 2 "gem" songs...
