Probably her religious family shamed her into retirement. Glad she realized it wasn't worth to throw away a successful career over a centuries old fantasy book .

Hopefully her family now understands this is just her job, and it's entertainment, and that's all there is to it (I'm only ASSUMING it was her family/environment that lead her to believe she was spreading degeneracy, I want to make that clear, I don't think she openly adressed what was the reason behind her meltdown, and what made her change her mind).
