I know this is not related to the type of topic, but I thought it would be a interesting thread.

This one is about the MTV Video Music Awards 2025 and we know that Gaga has a concert on the same day but how about we make a game about guessing her nominations and probably her snubs? Let's go!

Here's the list of possible nominations:

Video Of The Year - Abracadabra

Video Of The Year - Die With A Smile with Bruno Mars

Artist Of The Year

Song Of The Year - Die With A Smile with Bruno Mars

Best Collaboration - Die With A Smile with Bruno Mars

Best Pop - Abracadabra

Video For Good - Disease

Best Trending Video - Abracadabra

Song Of Summer - Abracadabra

Best Direction - Abracadabra

Best Art Direction - Abracadabra

Best Cinematography - Die With A Smile with Bruno Mars

Best Choreography - Abracadabra

Best Editing - Die With A Smile with Bruno Mars

Best Visual Effects - Disease

Which nominations do you see happening and snubs?

Do you see Lady Gaga getting just 4 noms like in 2011, or she is gonna have 6 nominations? Or she will dominate with 9 noms?

Lady Gaga Leads 2025 MTV VMAs with Nine Nominations along with Kendrick Lamar, Including Video of the Year for ‘Abracadabra’

By Billboard Staff
Published: August 4, 2025

Lady Gaga is back in a big way at the 2025 MTV Video Music Awards, tying for the most nominations with a staggering nine nods, cementing her as a powerhouse in this year’s race. The pop superstar’s latest album Mayhem has fueled her return to the VMA spotlight, with her high-octane single “Abracadabra” and her chart-topping duet with Bruno Mars, “Die With a Smile,” leading the charge. The nominations, announced Tuesday, highlight Gaga’s signature blend of bold visuals, infectious pop anthems, and cutting-edge artistry.

Gaga’s “Abracadabra” music video, which premiered during the 2025 Grammy Awards and debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot Dance/Pop Songs chart, earned four nominations: Video of the Year, Best Pop, Best Trending Video, and Best Art Direction. The Parris Goebel-choreographed clip, featuring 40 dancers and Gaga’s theatrical flair, has been praised for its “Bad Romance”-esque spectacle, with red, black, and white aesthetics and meticulous design. The video also snagged a nod for Best Choreography, recognizing Goebel’s dynamic work that fans have compared to Michael Jackson’s iconic visuals.

Meanwhile, Gaga’s collaboration with Bruno Mars, “Die With a Smile,” a No. 1 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 and a 2025 Grammy winner for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance, secured nominations for Song of the Year and Best Collaboration. The track’s heartfelt lyricism and retro-inspired video have resonated widely, amassing over 1 billion Spotify streams faster than any other song in 2024. Additionally, Gaga’s dark electro-pop banger “Disease” earned a nomination for Best Visual Effects, with its bold, theatrical visuals standing out as a fan favorite.

Rounding out her nominations, Gaga is up for Artist of the Year, a testament to her dominant 2025, which included headlining Coachella, performing at the Super Bowl LIX pregame show, and releasing Mayhem, her seventh No. 1 album on the Billboard 200. Her influence extends beyond music, with a historic Rio concert drawing 2.1 million attendees and an upcoming role in Netflix’s Wednesday Season 2.

Gaga’s nine nominations tie her with Kendrick Lamar for the most nods this year, a feat that recalls her record-breaking 13 nominations at the 2010 VMAs, where she won eight awards, including Video of the Year for “Bad Romance.” With 18 VMA wins and 38 nominations to date, Gaga remains one of the ceremony’s most celebrated artists, having also claimed the inaugural Tricon Award in 2020 for her multifaceted contributions to entertainment.

The 2025 VMAs, set to air live from [TBD venue, e.g., UBS Arena in New York] on [TBD date, e.g., September 10, 2025], promise a star-studded night, with performances and presenters to be announced. Fans are already buzzing on social media, with one X post declaring, “Gaga’s Mayhem era is unstoppable—9 VMA noms and counting! #Abracadabra for the win.” Whether she sweeps the categories or not, Gaga’s return to the VMA stage is poised to be a cultural moment.

If she really has a concert scheduled the same day, she's not getting the Vanguard this year.

Yeah, a live performance from the concert would be great. I think she could land 4 nominations and hopefully win 1 or 2 (Best collaboration being the safest bet)

So in your scenario she has just 4, including Best Collaboration. Which other categories would she get nominated for? Do you think she will get the Born This Way era treatment?
