2nd, it gives the audience a chance to also slow down a bit and take in the moment and obviously take a bathroom break and get snacks as someone just mentioned lol

Id love Gaga to be a BEAST (no pun intended) and just rock all her uptempo dance bops for 2 straight hours but I dont think anyone would be able to pull that off unless they want to have serious medical issues and Gaga already has Fibro so its also for Gags health overall that she take a slight pause during her shows indefinitely now

I'd take a slower pace middle section of the show if she KILLS it with the storytelling and visuals ala BTWB or artRAVE Ball

Oh I 100% agree that it’s not a Gaga show without them, but the placement matters a LOT. I wish she could come up with some creative way to have it be part of the narrative or something. Idk how to explain it, but it feels like a separate show when she does the piano sections.

I think my main complaint might actually be the songs she keeps choosing to do. Shallow, Edge of Glory, Blade of Grass, Million Reasons, Angel Down… like girl, let’s sing something a bit more up tempo at the piano. Where is You and I? Where is Speechless that she could do with the whole band? Gypsy?? Maybe throw in some left field picks like Fashion!, keep Enigma from Chroma ball but at the piano, or Americano like she did at the Monster Ball! I get that Shallow is one of her biggest hits but it’s sooooo tired at this point and challenging to sing

Really disappointed if this is true...as someone who's only seen Gaga once before (at TCB), these shows filled in loads of gaps of songs I've not seen her perform before (Paparazzi, Bloody Mary, Judas, Alejandro), so i was so excited about potentially seeing this show live in an arena  

I just hope the arena show is just as good

Finally someone who feels the same! And is brave enough to talk about it   don't get me wrong, I LOVE the gothic dream thing. Everything about Gagachella was perfect, and if I'd seen that live as Mayhem Ball without spoilers I probably would've cried

Unfollowing all Gaga related accounts, not watching stories from friends/mutuals who post about her, tapping 'not interested' on all Gaga related videos on TikTok, probs won't login here until after my show in December. I just really so badly want the experience of going into a Gaga show completely blind. Still chasing the high from seeing the BTW Ball in 2012 without spoilers and having the entire trajectory of my life changed after witnessing god in that arena

Yes I’m aware of that but we’ve only started saying it now that the show has finished so I thought perhaps gaga actually referred to the show as that

Is this shocking to anyone, though? These were stadium shows and Mayhem Ball is arena.. were we really expecting the same thing?

She should be singing Shallow, Happy Mistake, and make pokerface a piano cherry tree version again. I think that would fix some of this. I know two of those are slow but the first is her only genuine ballad HIT, the second matches mayhem, and the last gives you a little bit of pep and fun at the piano before she goes into the rest of the show. I think I’d probably organize it happy mistake to segue from some mayhem song into a slow part, then shallow, then pokerface. Start at the saddest, get big and powerful, get fun and flirty then the show kicks up again

 

but in all of this she could make the arrangements fuller

i wanted to do this when she added hershey to the chromatica ball dates but i simply cannot let things be what they are and immediately looked up the setlist after dusseldorf night 1 

i did go into the artrave completely blind, though.  so if i'm able to get tickets for the mayhem ball, i will be avoiding spoilers like the PLAGUE if the show is a new one.
