I adore the gibberish of Scheiße, but kinda wish she actually spoke German? haha I adore how out of nowehre it hits you with a random sketch of a foreign language. Also I love the line "I just love the music, not the bling" but I feel like it's always gonna be used against her till the end of her career I like the misheard "hold me in your hole tonight" on Abra (this time for real...) and feel slightly uncomfortable whenever she makes cult references like on Hold My Ham "your prayers will be answered, *let god whisper how*"
Chromanne 1,388
Am I the only one who heard "I stand to waiting for you" instead of "I stand here waiting for you"? Also, what does "Pop culture was in art now art's in pop culture in me" mean In 911, she says "There is biological stasis, my mood to shifting to manic places". How is she having biological stasis (ability to adapt to environmental changes) if her mood shifts to manic places and being unstable? Biostasis helps to maintain stability. Stasis is not homeostasis. Stasis is literally defined as a state that doesn't change, Biological stasis = anti psychotic induced stability. Edit: also, homeostasis is not adaptability, it's literally maintaining a difference between the inner and outer medium, in which the inner remains constant. hamartia 1,199
Omg this is such a fun topic 1. "I looked with my face up to the sky" from Sine makes me giggle because I imagine her looking with her entire head like this V instead of a tender pleading to the universe lol 2. It's been 84 years and I still can't learn wtf the Latin (?) part in BTW is. Mi amor-vebran-ay fey-ey! I also love the inclusion of ...culturally insensitive terms on BTW bc it's just SO funny to have an empowerment anthem with the word orient in it To think of her sitting in the studio trying to cook up words that refer to various ethnic groups that rhyme cracks me tf up. Also her listing all these countries in Gypsy and then "Africa" lmao girl 3. I don't think that was the intent, but on Come to Mama she sounds like a full blown creationist at some points lmao

Yes the inner body tries to remain constant and helps carry on physiological processes despite changes in the environment. 47 minutes ago, Taumaturg0 said: Stasis is not homeostasis. Ok I misunderstood, some antipsychotic pills do make mood to shift to manic phase, rather than depressive phase. If it shifts to manic phase like the next verse says, it may not be called as stasis. But it's just my thought I guess. It's quite subjective at the end. Edited April 8 by Chromanne

The "reverse Warholian experience". Warhol put pop culture (celebrities like Marilyn Monroe, and products like tomato soup cans) onto art (hence the name Pop Art) - and with ARTPOP Gaga wanted to do the opposite, and put art into pop - like putting the Birth of Venus and Koon's Gazing Ball onto a commercial pop album etc. I think the "in me" part is her the pop star (the product) becoming the art work which is the same concept. She must have explained this a gazillion times during the era Edited April 8 by Gorehound I'm fine, Ta 2 1 1

StrawberryBlond 14,818
"I wanna be free and I just wanna be me and I want lots of friends who invite me to their parties." - I love this song but yeah, that line is cheese personified and a bit too juvenile. But it's sweet. "Shadow is burnt, yellow dance and we turn." - Still don't know what it means. Don't know what this sounds like to someone who doesn't know English either. "Love it when you call me Legs, in the morning, buy me eggs." - The line all her fans keep coming back to where we just shake our heads. "Love me, love me, please retweet." - Retweeting doesn't even have anything to do with love. It isn't like Gaga to namedrop companies in songs and be a bit too current to be trendy, so this was a big lapse in judgement.

It's because she has a bad habit of cutting sentences in the wrong places to fit the melody, it's "shadow is burnt yellow", referring to her photograph being burnt on film (they're yellow probably because of some technique). 1 hour ago, StrawberryBlond said: "Love me, love me, please retweet." - Retweeting doesn't even have anything to do with love. Oriane 20,918
She does have some very cheesy and cringe lyrics at times. Apart from "I just wanna be free, I just wanna be me, and I want lots of friends who invite me to their parties" quoted earlier, I'm really glad that I wanna be with you became Dope. "I'd rather be poor and happy than rich and alone" probably sounds deep when you're 12. The only GGD member who can read / Credits to Celloo Deng for the profile pic!
