KISS' Gene Simmons charges fans $12.5k to be his assistant on tour

$6k for a M&G and a signed guitar from the KISS frontman is actually really cool :bradley:

You can pay a third of that to spend two minutes in the same room as Lady Gaga and ten other fans tbh

$12k seems steep for that though. It'd be cooler if there was some kind of raffle program people could enter for maybe an additional $50 or something on top of their ticket price. You'd still end up making a few extra thousand per show at least AND that person only has to pay $50.

Imagine labor that you have to pay for :air:

Him and JoJo (who also trying to steal Gene' make up, interestingly) :diane:

it doesn't sound like they're legit going to make them work, it'll just be a chance to be present/watch the set up of the show and hang out with the crew

Literally nobody under the age of 50 is going to purchase this. Someone's dad is 100% buying this experience for himself.

It’s something my uncle would do and he was a roadie for them in the 80s

There is no marketing gimmick that Gene won't do and it was because of his approach to marketing that Kiss became a global brand to begin with. That being said, it would be pretty cool to go on the road with an artist you are a fan of as long as you have loads of money to throw to the wind

If you could afford that price, why not pay to just spend the day or hire him for an event or dinner. Paying to…work for him? That is some cash pig kink.

Exactly what i thought

I dont think its true exploitation. Work wise at least...

This is for 1 day. Workers are always a liability the first few days. They waste more time making little mistakes and making coworkers have to teach them everything than they help

So while ppl may associate this with societal issues of Corporate exploitation, i dont think labor is really the driving force here, it really is the experience

My criticism if anything would be more about the high cost of the experience, i think 12k is too much, but i wouldnt criticise the fact that it includes labor. Ppl who would go for this would want to do it

Plus like i said above, a person with no experience on their first day is gonna get in the way more than they will really help. Obviously the labor part of it really is meant to be an experience, not to try and get some chores for free. It will make no difference for them whats so ever

I paid $842 for a M&G with Alice Cooper.  It included a photo with just him, not a group photo.  Unfortunately the concert was cancelled due to covid.  :noparty:
