With someone like Trump that does get u a bit more repreve in the short term because he doesnt want to be challanged, he likes to "win" and his fragile ego cant take not feeling like hes calling the shots

 

So Canada whichh arguably has been more vocal and agressive than anyone is really irritating Trump and probably why despite the fact our trade is closer to balance than Mexico or Chinas he thinks and I quote "Canada is nasty, they are very difficult people to deal with, Trudeau and his people, they are nasty"

 

But tho it attracts his ire in the short term, I think in the long run were better off taking some more pain now than having to conceed to unfair and unreasonable demands. If we all stand up to Trump sooner or later he will be forced to fold because politically America does not have the will to endure pain caused by this as much as Canadians, Europeans or Mexicans do because those ppl are angry and know its Trumps fault but in America, half of his own people dont agree with this and the backlash against him will be bigger

 

In the political sense at least America has the weaker hand but again, their economy is very large. The US is a $30T economy, Canada is only like $2.2, for us to make a serious dent others gotta join

 

USA: $27T

 

All 27 EU Nations combined: $20T

China: $18T

Canada: $2.2T

Mexico: $1.7T

 

Thats 30 Nations (27 EU + 3 major trading partners) with a combined GDP of $42T...

 

Thats $15T more than USA. We can absolutely win united and force Trump to fold if were agressive and cordinate.

 

I think Canadas strategy is fine and will force Trump to quit sooner or later, but it only works well if allies work together. If we all cave and compromise to reduce Trumps ire, it may spare us more pain now but force us to permanently hold larger concessions

I hope everyone retaliates and bullies him. I don't care if it comes at a detriment to us; make him feel weak and small. Let him scramble and grasp at everything to fight back and let it be humiliating for him.

Its the same for Americans as well after all. Short term pain but if it weakens him long term its better for America if other nations retaliate

Very much. It feels like we're living in The Twilight Zone here. Many have been conditioned into blindly supporting what's being done but so many more see what's happening but feel dazed and powerless. At this point I think it's all a collective trauma response and we're having a breakdown at the worst time. Maybe a bucket of ice water in the face is what we need. 

Until we come to our senses, whatever kinda sense we had before this movement came into power, someone needs to take away homeboy's toys and give him obstacles to distract him from ruining more important sh*t.

Help is appreciated even if we don't really deserve it.
