Trump has threatned to raise tarrifs on the EU and Canada even more if they work together to retaliate

The EU so far has delayed relatory tarrifs to Mid April. Canada on the otherhand has kept the retalatory tarrifs it added and is ready to add more as soon as April 2nd if Trump goes ahead with planned tarrifs

I lowkey feel annoyed that Canada seems to be the only in the West going agressive at hitting back and making threats. It doesnt work as well at scaring Trump if were the only ones doing it. A $2.2T economy is too small to seriously hurt the US on its own :toofunny:

China is going agressive too and in rehtoric but since China exports way more than it imports, it has a bit less leverage to seriously damage unless they withhold critical minerals

At my job I still overhear people talking about their upcoming vacations to Florida or plans to go to Buffalo for shopping trips and I'm like... :triggered:

Good luck when your family gets detained I guess. Hope the trip to Target was worth it :sis:

The EU needs to get aggressive. Tired of these tariff headlines constantly reporting the same thing only to be pushed back again...

All he’ll do is make life worse for Americans, we don’t want stuff from the States here, keep it you orange turd. There are other markets we can send our products to, this is going to end up doing so many favours for China and the US’ real enemies in the long run. Elect an idiot expect damaging outcomes.

I get the point, but i'm somewhat relieved the EU doesn't jump the gun immediately. Donald wants to dictate when nations move and how they reply. He's not really tied down by conventional democratic structures anymore and yell whatever he wants on Twitter while taking a dump. The EU for sure is working on plans that can then stay in place for 6-12-24 months once they activate. Also, German parliament just came together for the first time earlier this week and the CDU/CSU and SPD still need to form their coalition. So i wouldn't expect anything before easter. Donald still will be here raging like a 5 year old trapped in a 80y/o body then

The fact that this manchild got so high up in the world tells me all I need to know about the upper echelons of New York and American society more broadly. Same goes for the likes of Musk. Slimy mother****ers. Tax the **** out of them as soon as possible.

Literally every political party in Canada hates Trump. I went on a ski trip in Canada recently, and even the conservative party aired ads that criticized politicians that were allegedley cozying up to Trump.

I can only speak for Mexico, but since we’ve been through this since his last term, it seems like our current approach of “stay quiet and deal with him privately” has been at the very least giving us some additional time to negotiate. Mexico is in a more vulnerable position than most of the other countries involved, so that seems to be the best possible option for us at the moment. Him praising president Sheimbaum and being less agressive towards Mexico in recent weeks seems like a good indicator.

That being said, we’re supposedly ready to respond with tariffs on products coming from red states if everything else fails.

Not only do they need to be taxed but their influence over politics needs to be made as little as possible.

Once the US decided corporations are people, we should have know we were f*cked.
