Well the way she gets nominated for everything and always gets praise no matter what makes me wonder if payola for positive reviews is a real rumour and Id look down on that more than payola for promo

 

Then theres her connection to powerful husband in music

 

I think shes got unfair advantages on the acclaim department so therein comes lowkey shade

At some point her detractors have to accept that "payola" only gets someone so far and that she's more than earned her position as the icon of our generation

I agree theres limits to what it can do for you and u wouldnt be such an icon if u sucked and werent good

But would she be THIS acclaimed all the time without payola? Hard to prove either way, but im not convinced.

 

She may be a woman of colour but its been many years since shes been experiencing a typical black woman career. Shes about as priviledged in status in the industry as you can possibly get. More than Gaga id say for sure. Perhaps more than Taylor even. She and her husband have a lot of power now and I dont trust that all acclaim is really organic and legitimate

I'm not even a stan so I won't waste either of our time debating this but I definitely do believe she's basically the only artist alive right now that can realistically be called a near equal to folks like MJ, Madonna, Prince, etc
