A lot of big twitch streamers have what’s basically listening parties with their giant audiences for these big hip-hop releases. I know we’re getting old here but streamers like Kai Cenat and Pokimane are the new celebs for Gen Z and Alpha.

This along side the fact the rap community is more unified versus the pop community fandoms.

I feel like that plays a huge part in these big release week streams.

Yeah this sounds like a Premium payola package!

Not a single song from him cracked the top 10

His two albums went #1 in the Us but according to wiki they only sold around 600k (not sure how trustworthy wiki is) and in the rest of the world thy barely made an impact and where out of the charts after a week.

If it's all organic  - I'm impressed and good for him. But I highly doubt it

Laughing at everyone who is so out of touch that they were laughing at this man being a threat to Gaga's numbers when it was rumored he would release the same day.

Day 2: 90M(-49M):billie:

This feels so weird considering they were celebrating doing 139M in only 12 hours but now that they had 24h they did 49M less? Make it make sense

For contrast MAYHEM only lost 23.17% streams on the second day worldwide.

Let this fraud tankery begin :bye:

Lets not be too cocky, even with his +40% drop he is still doing twice what Gaga did on her first

This is EXACTLY what I've been saying the last few days. I think it's partly because of collabs, but the fact is if you're a fan of the genre you're going to listen to every major release. So Carti will get streams from fans of Lil Uzi Vert, Kanye West, Travis Scott, 21 Savage etc...

Whereas you don't get that in the pop world as much. How many Katy Perry, Sabrina Carpenter, Taylor Swift, Chappell Roan, Beyonce fans etc listened to MAYHEM last week?

It's the main the reason The Weeknd is so popular, as he manages to cross genres so well due to him being every rap fan's favourite popstar.

I truly live in a bubble bc I dont know anyone that talked about this album, not even on social media. And I do like rap, I do have straight guy friends lol, but I didnt see any hype for his album. When kendrick or drake's album were released, a lot people were talking about it, but this one ? Nothing. The fact that its putting TTPD level number is absolutly wild
