Why are Gaga fans allergic to her disco/funk inspired tracks?

genuinely don't remember that, do u have the link? maybe she said it just casually, still it was not the thing she was remarking more when it came to describing the album, and as i said i think she should've maybe allude more to it to not having so many fans having the wrong expectations

Here's just one example from ELLE. I'm sure there's another interview before that tho...

The sound is hard to pin down. She describes one track as a “happy apocalyptic tune” and says her influences include “’90s alternative, electro-grunge, Prince and Bowie melodies, guitar and attitude, funky bass lines, French electronic dance, and analog synths.”

The Zombieboy chorus has something weird going on with it...

its physically impossible not to start moving to it/memorizing it more & more each time.

i feel this way about shadow of a man, every time that chorus hits i feel the urge to shake my shoulders and bust out some mj moves

i don't wanna be the one to fall on the knife

Very infectious. Will stick with her forever

One of her best hooks of all time, I fear

I love disco and disco-inspired tracks. Maybe some fans see it as "basic" because disco is so deeply entrenched in the modern pop sound, but Idgaf if works for me. Assuming that there is a clever or unique twist on the formula, as Gaga tends to do.

What’s so funny is that what is going on in these tracks usually far more complex in terms of arrangement and composition than a lot of the other songs they live for.

I’ve been hoping Gaga would do something like this for a long time and am so happy we have it now

I think there was a little mistake with the marketing prior to the release of the album. Yes, Gaga said this new record had multiple genres on it, but what truly spoke was the music and Disease, Abra and the other snippets (tracklist music, Perfect Celebrity, album trailer (+ visuals as well) made people think the album was all very dark/industrial.

I also was disoriented at first and I didn’t write anything for days on here because I wanted to have a clearer view on the record and change the image I made in my mind about this new music.

Now, after a few listens, I love this record:kara::cheeky: it certainly is something a little different from what we were all probably expecting but it’s just too good. The quality, the production, Gaga’s vocals… a solid and beautiful body of work.

I love the record and am happy with it even if my idea of the album was different upon listen. However, she kinda set herself up for people to feel this way. She released two darker tracks from the album and the rest of it is completed differently Yeah she said the album will be multiple genres but it really isn’t. A huge chunk, rather the majority of it, is just disco and funk. It’s not multiple genres like she claimed

I am so confused by the negative reaction of some fans. This album gets better on every listen. It's polished, edited, lyrically relatable and just so ****ing fun. It trumps BTW and AP for me. No competition.

The Shadow Of A Man chorus is the most exciting/satisfying music I've heard in years.

No recency bias/hype/exaggeration- I think its her best moment since anything from BTW.

I didn’t think Lady Gaga could still make me feel as excited as she does on that chorus... but it is air-tight.
