Gaga: "I'm not making a rock album" - GGD clownfest

Remember when Gaga posted "No, I'm not making a rock album" on Instagram and 90% of GGD said "Nah she's being sarcastic, it's definitely a confirmation that she's making a rock album!".

I said I would watch the clownfest when LG7 would be out and here I am

But the biggest clownery is not even about the album being rock, but the album being done. Oh, had we known that we still had to wait more than one year...

And yes I can already see some of you argue that the album has rock influences in some songs, but come on, nobody in their right mind would say that it's a rock album

Rock, like pop, encompasses a HUUUUUGE swath of music and itself contains dozens of more niche genres  

Sure, not every track is rock, but easily 75% of this album could be classified as a style of rock  

The genre classification aside, I'm still so stoked that they used analog instruments  @TheSine and I really won here 'cause we were talking about that specific thing for months

She didn’t make a rock album with MAYHEM, but she should make a rock album. A industrial rock album with electronic influences would be fire! But in the end of the day, she’s the boss. 

It kind of reminds me of that old rumor that LG6 was supposedly going to be her singing Ally vocals with Nine Inch Nails influenced instrumentals. Obviously that was way before Chromatica.

We were. It sounds so much crispier and each instrumental has a lot of depth. Just how I like it.

As someone who listens to alot of rock music, most of the songs have heavy rock influences. Rock is an umbrella covering a lot of subgenres.

I need to remember which interview it was but I swear when she said they played a real bass and fed it through a program to turn it into a synth I almost climaxed

But as always, it's pop music influenced by rock music, more than rock music. Just like Joanne is not a country album. MAYHEM would never get nominated for best rock album at the Grammys for example. I think that when fans state they want a rock album from her, they want exactly that, just like her jazz albums are full-on jazz.
