I won't elaborate much further than this, but based on my research, "How Bad Do U Want Me" is a song that resonates, primarily, with physically attractive people. If you're not cute, you just won't be able to understand the song, on a neurological level . 

It is the same reason why the visually challenged resisted songs like "Plastic Doll", and "Fashion Of His Love": you have to be hot to connect with them, you won't get it if you're a jumpscare, it is what it is. 

It explains why the song is polarizing: it's for the hotties I'm afraid

Well what about FOHL and Plastic Doll being two of my favourites ever bc they just feel so good to listen to… but I really cannot stand HBDUWM  they don’t feel like the same category at all

Taste in music is subjective, honey.

There is no literally benchmarks for people to know if a song is good or bad (there's just bad and b*tchy behavior). Music is for all, and if an individual likes a specific song, it's never for anyone to dictate why a person should or shouldn't like a song.
