Chromatica w/out BloodPop is better

Everyone's talking about the demos/final versions, but to me the problem is with the songs themselves. Many of these didn't seem to have a soul, it's as if she was totally disinterested in the process.

while i think people acting like he held her at gunpoint are extremely dramatic, it's pretty clear (based on her very recent interviews) that she was disconnected during the entire creation and considers it weaker than her other work. seems like she associates that album process with a lot of pain which is understandable given what shes discussed about that time period. 

tbh i think yall just need to move on from bloodpop--that goes for the haters and the dickriders

I've heard enough to really dislike Bloodpop. Not only as a producer but as a person.

She's worked with plenty of producers that churn out great products and aren't tools

I don't even think it's a "bad" album per se, but definitely some of Gaga's and Bloodpop's weakest work.

The only one this is true for is Stupid Love. You simply decided to only write the last lines of the choruses for some reason

The chorus is "IF OUR LOVE WAS TRAGEDY WHY ARE YOU MY REMEDY etc."

If you don't like the album, fair enough, there's no need to falsify what it is.

I think bloodpop gets a lot of the flack that interscope deserves. Interscope wanted chromatica as mainstream-friendly as possible in any and every way after Joanne - it’s really obvious. Especially with that one tweet where Bloodpop joked about telling her “you wanted to be a pop star”

To be honest that's just Gaga's main way of working with producers. She switches it up. They barely ever stick around for more than 2-3 years.

1000 Doves Piano Demo has more ‘Gaga’ soul than most of the album combined. Forget how beautiful that one is. And was a bonus exclusive right?

I really can't stand the sudden Chromatica negativity (not just here, but on other social media too) now that Mayhem is out. the era lasted almost 5 years for a reason - because the music was good and there was still an appetite for it once the pandemic started to calm down & Gaga could tour

it's just such revisionist history to pretend like it's a bad album when it went to #1, spawned a remix album, stadium tour, concert film, an aesthetic that is still super present in drag, and even goddamn oreos

I don’t understand why fans harp on this over and over again. People continuously say that bloodpop ruined Chromatica, but he literally made Chromatica. he was involved right from the beginning, and he brought in the other producers for gaga.  He brought the demos to her. 

How do we know that bloodpop was the one who changed things? What if it was interscope? Or Gaga herself? Gaga never confirmed that Bloodpop was the reason these songs were modified from strictly house music, other than for 1000 doves, which we got the piano demo for anyway. 
 

I think bloodpop is a fantastic producer, and he brought the best out of gaga at that time. Which must’ve been a very hard uphill battle.

Chromatica is a ****ing good album despite everything is said. Maybe the process was difficult, maybe some song could have been better, but every song stands out on its own, the lyrics are good and touching at certain moments, the visuals were on point and the artists featured were huge. There’s nothing to be ashamed of, it was released 5 years ago and despite what she says and thinks about it now it stands (good) on its own

I thought Boys Noize did the Free Woman and Rain on Me demos? I know Bloodpop did Babylon and I'm assuming the rest, Stupid Love was changed up by Max Martin I think so that can't be blamed on Bloodpop

Also, I can't believe we're still bullying the poor guy after 5 years, and mere days after getting a new album. Some of you should learn to move on or get a hobby. It's also very convenient to come up with this bullshit right now, I don't seem to remember any of this energy back in 2020 when you were all making LG6 the soundtrack of your summer.
