As a makeup artist, drag queen and person who has studied makeup for almost 15 years on and off before becoming one. I can tell you the makeup is fine for what she’s referencing, the blending is good you don’t need your brow bone to be constantly on display almost makeupless and blended out to your hairline , unless you’re a model your eyes aren’t symmetrical in any way so it’s hard to fix. Plus you guys don’t understand the time crunch celeb makeup artists have, it’s not like when you get ready with your girls for a night out and pre drink and do 4 hours worth of makeup. Celebs have busy schedules and often things like red carpets and photoshoots have a hard deadline. For reference I once had the privilege of attending a masterclass with Val years ago and I asked what was the most time and least she’s ever had to do a look on a celeb. Most she said was 2 hours least was 25 mins. And (you guessed it) Gaga was the 25 min one for BTW because Gaga was 3 hours late to ShowStudio because her flight was delayed. And time is money, She even explained the reason for the photoshoot ending up in greyscale and heavily edited was because they were not happy with how her prosthetics and makeup turned out bc of the time crunch.

And funny you bring up Pat and Val, they both infamously do either soft runway makeup or “messy” editorial makeup or graphic eyes. Which Gaga always has had all the above since Sarah became her makeup artist. Sure Sarah slays minimal no makeup looks the most but I’ve seen her do some amazing makeup most notably during the HOG campaign.

I’m not saying Sarah’s perfect but she knows Gaga’s face well. Plus Val and Pat have worked with her loads of times before in the past, they’re busy women and can’t be personal MUAs anyway.

With regards to Michael's involvement, I don't think it's bad. He's way better at handling the business side of things, while Gaga gets to focus on the creative process.
